The team was located in Midland, and plays its home games at Currie Stadium, located in Emerson Park, Michigan.
After playing partial seasons in the NPF for 2006 and 2007 with hopes of becoming an expansion team, the team folded in 2008, citing financial difficulties. [1]

Travis David Wilson was a former member of the Black Sox, New Zealand's national softball. He first played for the Black Sox in 1994 and was an integral part of their ISF Men's World Championship winning team in Midland, Michigan in 1996. Wilson is the current assistant softball coach for the Florida State Softball Team. He has been the hitting coach since the 2012 season. The Florida State Softball Team has won 8 ACC titles and has made 5 trips to the Women's College World Series in his time. Florida State has played in three championship series in 2018, 2021, 2023. They were the 2018 National Champions.
