The Midway Mall is the only shopping mall in the areas of far North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. The mall is also the only mall outside of the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area and central Oklahoma. The mall sits about one mile east of US Highway 75. The Sherman and Denison, Texas area have a population of about 150,000. [2]
The site of the Midway Mall was originally a Sears, with the rest of the property being developed around it. [3] The Midway Mall opened in 1986 with the anchor stores Dillard's, Bealls, JC Penney, Mervyn's, and Sears. [3] In 2007, the Midway Mall lost its JC Penney, after the chain moved four miles south to the Sherman Town Center. [3] On August 20, 2010, it was announced that the mall would be sold to TNP Sites after the Simon Property Group managed the property for 24 years. [4] On June 6, 2017, Sears announced that it would be closing its Sherman store and Auto Center. This was one of 70 properties that the company announced would close. The store closed early in September 2017. [5] Within the last 10 years, the Midway Mall has become a dead mall, as it has been documented on various YouTube channels. [6] On May 6, 2021, the city of Sherman announced there was a contract to sell the mall. According to the Grayson County Assessor, the property is valued at $1.5 million and is no longer for sale, it was purchased by Mustard Street Management. [7] Repairs are currently being worked on in phases, the first repair was replacing air conditioning.

Northgate Mall, also called Northgate, is an enclosed shopping mall in the Chattanooga, Tennessee suburb of Hixson. Opened on March 15, 1972, it was the second mall built in Chattanooga. Anchor stores are Belk, with two vacant anchors that were formerly Sears and JCPenney.
Summit Place Mall, originally Pontiac Mall, was a shopping mall in Waterford Township, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1962 as the first enclosed mall in Michigan, it was built on a 74-acre (30 ha) site. After expansions in 1987 and 1993, it comprised more than 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of retail space. In November 2012, the majority of the mall closed, and the last anchor closed in 2017. A mixed use development is planned, and demolition began around August 2023.

Acadiana Mall is an enclosed regional shopping mall in the city of Lafayette, Louisiana, located at the intersection of Johnston Street and Ambassador Caffery Parkway. It opened in 1979 and was developed by Robert B. Aikens & Associates, but is now owned by Namdar Realty Group. Currently, Acadiana Mall houses three department store anchors. In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Acadiana Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties. Sears closed in September 2017 leaving its site vacant. On June 4, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing as part of a plan to close 154 stores nationwide. However this store was removed from the closing list on July 13, 2020.
Baybrook Mall is a shopping mall located near the Clear Lake City area in Houston, Texas; It has a Friendswood mailing address, but it is in the Houston city limits. The mall is located off Interstate 45, and it is also in proximity to Webster and the NASA Johnson Space Center. The anchor stores are Star Cinema Grill, Dave & Buster's, Dillard's, JCPenney, H&M, Macy's, and Forever 21. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears.

The Raleigh Springs Mall was an enclosed shopping mall serving the city of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The site is located on the north side of Memphis, on Austin Peay Hwy. just north of Interstate 40. It began construction in 1969 and opened two years later on August 11, 1971 as one of the city's first two shopping malls, owned and managed by the Edward J. DeBartolo corporation. The Raleigh Springs Mall originally featured about seventy stores and later featured a twelve-screen multiplex, with four anchor stores, formerly occupied by Sears, JCPenney, Goldsmith's and Dillard's. The theater closed in December 2011, Sears closed in April 2011, and the other three anchors closed in 2003. The mall property was won by the City of Memphis in multiple court challenges in favor to build a city Civic Center. The mall closed with 3 business still operating, City Trends, World Diamond Center, and a church.

Arrowhead Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Muskogee, Oklahoma. It was opened in 1987 and was owned by J. Herzog & Sons, Inc. from 2005 until November 2016 when the mall went into receivership and was put up for sale by Wells Fargo Bank. Wells Fargo bank sold the mall to an investor in 2018 and is currently managed by Property Managers LLC of Fort Worth, Texas. It is the only mall located within 44 miles of Muskogee, but remains close to the neighboring Tulsa metropolitan area.
