Mikael Olander (born 11 June 1963) is a retired decathlete from Sweden, who finished in 17th place (7869 points) at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He is a one-time national champion (1986) in the men's decathlon. He also competed for Upsala IF. [1]
Olander was a member of the Louisiana State University track and field team. During his time in the national decathlon team, he won two Swedish Championships gold medals and the American NCAA Track and Field Championships. He also participated in European Championships and World Championships [2] [3] [4]
He finished in fifteenth place in the decathlon at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics in Rome. [5]
In 2012, Mikael Olander co-founded Bygghemma Group Nordic AB. [6]
In 2018, Olander was indicted for tax offenses related to his former role as CEO of CDON Group [7] . However, in 2020, Mikael Olander was acquitted of all charges of tax offenses in a Finnish district court. [8]
