Mike Bocklet (born November 3, 1984) is a professional lacrosse player with the Chaos of Premier Lacrosse League and the head coach of the John Jay High School men's lacrosse team in Cross River, NY. Bocklet is the director and co-founder of the X10 Mountain Lacrosse Academy and Moonlight Lacrosse, LLC. [1]

Professional career

Bocklet was drafted in the 4th round (45th overall) of the 2007 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft by the Long Island Lizards. [2] In 2015, Inside Lacrosse named Bocklet its First Year Player of the Year after producing 32 goals and 16 assists for the Denver Outlaws. He was the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week twice. [3] [4] Mike and his brothers, Matt and Chris, played together for the Outlaws. [5] [6] Bocklet was selected to play in the 2017 MLL All-Star Game in Sacramento, California. [7]

Collegiate career

Bocklet attended Fairfield University where he served as captain of the Stags during his senior season and finished his career ranked among the best players in program history statistically. He tallied 147 points, fourth all-time, on 95 goals, fifth in program history and 52 assists, sixth in program history. [8] In 2007, Bocklet earned a selection to the prestigious USILA North-South game and to the Tewaaraton Trophy Watchlist, given to the nation's most outstanding NCAA lacrosse player. In 2004, Bocklet helped lead the Stags to the Great Western Lacrosse League Championship and the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. Bocklet was named Second Team All-New England in 2005 and 2007 and Second Team All-GWLL in 2004 and 2005.

High school career

Bocklet attended John Jay High School where he was named a high school All-American and was the New York State Section I Point Leader, scoring 108 points with 54 goals and 54 assists during his senior season.

Originally from the West Torrens Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, South Australia, Green played on the Australian National Team in the 2006 World Games in London. Wes Green played his college ball at Adelphi University where he Earned several honours during his senior season (2006) at Adelphi, including: USILA Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award, USILA Lt. Col. J.I. Turnbull Award, First Team All-American, ECC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Inside Lacrosse Magazine First Team Preseason All-American. Green now plays in the Victorian state league and coaches at Williamstown Lacrosse Club in Melbourne. He played 14 games in 2010 for Williamstown in the State league and scored 37 goals with a high scoring game of 9 goals.

The 2008 Major League Lacrosse season was the eighth season of the league. The season began on May 17, 2008, and concluded with the championship game on August 24, 2008.

Rafferty Stadium is a 3,500-seat lacrosse stadium on the campus of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. It is home to the Fairfield Stags men's and women's lacrosse teams. The facility opened officially on February 2, 2015. The stadium is named in recognition of the principal leadership gift from university alumnus Larry Rafferty. The field of the stadium in named Conway Field in acknowledgment of a gift from Tim Conway, another alumnus.

The 2019 Major League Lacrosse season was the 19th season of Major League Lacrosse. The regular season began on Friday, May 31 and ended on Sunday, September 22. It was the first time the league would ever begin its season after Memorial Day, allowing all players selected in the collegiate draft to play a full season. 2019 also marks the first time each team would play 16 games. The league has played a 14-game schedule since 2012. Additionally, the league returned to a Championship Weekend format instead of a two-week postseason for the first time since 2013. Championship Weekend was hosted in Denver with two semifinal games on Friday, October 4 and the 19th Steinfeld Cup was hosted at Dick's Sporting Goods Park October 6 on ESPN2.
