Michael Anthony Busch (born July 7,1968) is an American former professional baseball player and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers,and also in the KBO League for the Hanwha Eagles.
Busch is an alumnus of Iowa State University where he played both baseball and American football. As a senior in 1989 he was a consensus All-American in football. [1] He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 4th round of the 1990 MLB amateur draft. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30,1995,becoming the first replacement player to be promoted to a regular MLB roster after the 1994 Major League Baseball strike. Because of his status as a replacement player,Busch was never allowed membership in the MLBPA. He appeared in his final game on August 10,1996.
Beginning in the 2005 season,Busch was named the head coach of the Calgary Vipers,an independent minor league baseball team in the Northern League. The team has since moved to the Golden Baseball League. On December 1,2008,the Schaumburg Flyers of the Northern League announced Mike Busch as their new manager for the 2009 season. He remained the Flyers' manager until the team folded before the 2011 season.

Michael Lorri Scioscia,nicknamed "Sosh" and "El Jefe",is an American former Major League Baseball catcher and manager in Major League Baseball (MLB). He managed the Anaheim / Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim / Los Angeles Angels from the 2000 season through the 2018 season,and was the longest-tenured manager in Major League Baseball and second-longest-tenured coach/manager in the "Big Four",behind only Gregg Popovich at the time of his retirement. As a player,Scioscia made his major league debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1980. He was selected to two All-Star Games and won two World Series over the course of his 13-year MLB career,which was spent entirely with the Dodgers;this made him the only person in MLB history to spend his entire playing career with one team and entire managing career with another team with 10+ years in both places. He was signed by the San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers late in his career,but never appeared in a major league game for either team due to injury.

The 1977 Los Angeles Dodgers season saw Tommy Lasorda in his first full season at the helm of the Dodgers,replacing longtime manager Walter Alston as manager of the team near the end of the previous season. The Dodgers won the National League West by 10 games and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in four games in the NLCS,then lost to the New York Yankees in the World Series.
