The Alaska State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Alaska. It is a bicameral institution consisting of the 40-member Alaska House of Representatives and the 20-member Alaska Senate. There are 40 House Districts (1–40) and 20 Senate Districts (A–T). With a total of 60 lawmakers,the Alaska State Legislature is the smallest bicameral state legislature in the United States and the second-smallest of all state legislatures. There are no term limits for either chamber. The Alaska State Legislature meets in the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau. The current meeting since 2023 is the 33rd Alaska State Legislature. The previous meeting,the 32nd Alaska State Legislature,met from 2021 to 2023.
Andrew Verne Marrou is an American politician who served in the Alaska House of Representatives from the 5th district as a member of the Libertarian Party from 1985 to 1987. He was the Libertarian vice-presidential nominee in the 1988 election and presidential nominee in the 1992 election.

Robin L. Taylor is a lawyer from the U.S. state of Alaska. He has also served as a judge,government administrator and Republican Party politician. It is in this latter capacity that he is best known. Taylor served in the Alaska Legislature from 1985 to 2003. Running for governor of Alaska in 1998 in a blanket primary,Taylor was outpolled by John Lindauer for the Republican nomination. When questions arose over the source of Lindauer's campaign monies,Taylor reemerged as a write-in candidate for the office backed by the Republican Party of Alaska,who had disowned Lindauer. While Taylor outpolled Lindauer in the general election,both candidacies fell far behind that of incumbent Tony Knowles,who was elected to a second term.
Terrence Brent Miller was an American businessman and politician. Miller served as the fourth lieutenant governor of Alaska from 1978 to 1982. His political career,which began while he was in his early 20s,lasted over two decades and was cut short by his death from lung cancer at age 46.

Lyman F. Hoffman is a Yup'ik politician and Democratic member of the Alaska Senate since 1995. He represents the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta,Alaska Peninsula,and Aleutian Islands. He also served in the Senate from 1991 to 1993 previously,and was a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 1987−91 and 1993−95.
Gary Lee Stevens is a Republican member of the Alaska Senate since his appointment in February 2003. Stevens represents Kodiak Island,the southern Kenai Peninsula including Homer and Seward,and Cordova. He was previously a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2001 through 2003. Stevens is the current president of the Alaska Senate since 2023,an office he previously held from 2009 to 2013. The 2002 Alaska gubernatorial election took place on November 5,2002,for the post of Governor of Alaska. Republican U.S. Senator Frank Murkowski defeated Democratic Lieutenant Governor Fran Ulmer. Murkowski became the first Republican elected governor of Alaska since Jay Hammond in 1978.
Catherine Norah Muñoz is an American politician who was a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives,who from 2009 to 2017 represented the 34th District. She served as Co-Chair of the Community and Regional Affairs Committee,Vice-Chair of the Education Committee,and served two terms on the House Finance Committee. She served as Co-Chair of the Community &Regional Affairs Committee and Vice-Chair of the Education Committee. Muñoz has been a small business owner since 1988. She was appointed by Governor Michael J. Dunleavy in 2018 to serve as the Deputy Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Muñoz was a third-generation member of the Alaska Legislature. Her father served in the Alaska House and Senate,her grandfather as the mayor of Douglas,Alaska and in the Territorial and State Senates,and her grandmother served in the Territorial House.
Charles Michael Chenault is an American politician in the state of Alaska. Chenault served as a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives from 2001 to 2019,representing portions of the Kenai Peninsula Borough,where he has lived for most of his life. Chenault served as the body's speaker from 2009 to 2017. He lost his position as house speaker to Democrat Bryce Edgmon when three Republicans joined a coalition of Democrats to form a bipartisan house majority after the general election in November 2016.

Jane Arliss Sturgulewski was an American businesswoman and Republican politician from the U.S. state of Alaska. In a political career in which she started appearing in the spotlight in 1975,she represented Anchorage in the Alaska Senate from 1979 to 1993. Twice during off-years in re-election to her four-year Senate term,she won the Republican nomination for governor of Alaska against mostly conservative opposition in blanket primaries. The second time,in 1990,she came out in third place behind Walter Hickel and runner up Tony Knowles,which was the second of three times in Alaska's history a major-party nominee placed third. She won a 2000 Anchorage Athena award.

Meyer served in the Alaska Legislature continuously from 2003 to 2018,in both the Alaska House of Representatives and Senate,previously representing the district when it was District O. He works as an investment recovery coordinator for ConocoPhillips.
