Michael David York (born September 6,1964) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians.
York was drafted in 1982 by the New York Yankees,then bounced around the minor leagues for several years before reaching the majors with the Pirates in 1990. After starting 1991 back in the minors,he was traded to the Indians for Mitch Webster on May 16, [1] and pitched in 14 games for Cleveland before once again returning to the minors. He pitched several more years in various minor leagues before retiring in 1998.
Stanley Anthony Coveleski was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for four American League (AL) teams between 1912 and 1928,primarily the Cleveland Indians. The star of the Indians pitching staff,he won over 20 games each year from the war-shortened 1918 season through 1921,leading the AL in shutouts twice and in strikeouts and earned run average (ERA) once each during his nine years with the club. The star of the 1920 World Series,he led the Indians to their first title with three complete-game victories,including a 3–0 shutout in the Game 7 finale. Traded to the Washington Senators after the 1924 season,he helped that club to its second AL pennant in a row with 20 victories against only 5 losses,including a 13-game winning streak,while again leading the league in ERA.
Ralph Willard Terry was an American baseball player who played as a right-handed starting pitcher for twelve seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the New York Yankees,Kansas City Athletics,Cleveland Indians,and New York Mets from 1956 to 1967. He was a member of the Yankees pitching rotation on five consecutive league champions from 1960 to 1964,enjoying his best season in 1962 when he was named to his only All-Star team,going on to lead the American League with 23 victories. In the 1962 World Series he was named the Most Valuable Player after posting wins in two of the last three games,including a 1–0 shutout in the decisive game seven. He is also notable for surrendering a walk-off home run to Bill Mazeroski that won the 1960 World Series for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Terry also played for the Kansas City Athletics,Cleveland Indians,and New York Mets. He later enjoyed a successful career as a professional golfer.
Juan Ramón Pizarro a.k.a. "Terín" was a Puerto Rican Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher. He played for 18 seasons on 9 teams,from 1957 through 1974.
