TPS or Turun Palloseura is an ice hockey team and 10-time champion of SM-liiga and 1-time champion of SM-sarja. They play in Turku, Finland, at Gatorade Center. In terms of championships, TPS is the second all-time most successful team in SM-Liiga, right behind Tappara.
Forrest Clare "Phog" Allen was an American basketball coach and physician. Mikko-Sakari Koivu is a Finnish former professional ice hockey player. Koivu was drafted sixth overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild. After four seasons with TPS in the SM-liiga, Koivu joined the Wild in 2005. He spent fifteen seasons in Minnesota, including eleven as captain, accumulating several franchise records, including games played, assists and points scored. Koivu retired in 2021, after a short stint with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Gordon Walter Herbert is a Canadian-born Finnish professional basketball coach and former player. Herbert is currently serving as the head coach of Bayern Munich in the Basketball Bundesliga and the EuroLeague. He was previously named the head coach of the Germany national team in 2021 and guided them to a bronze medal at the EuroBasket 2022, and to the gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Awak Sabit Bior Kuier is a Finnish professional basketball player who competes for Reyer Venezia in the Italian Lega Basket Femminile and in the EuroLeague Women, and for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She competes internationally for the Finnish national team. Selected by the Wings with the second overall pick in the 2021 WNBA draft, she was the second Finnish player in the history of the league after Taru Tuukkanen to be drafted, and she became the first Finnish player to play in the WNBA in May 2021.
