Milhaven are a 4-piece post-rock band from Bochum, Germany, on the label 12rec.. Their sound has been compared to that of various post-rock bands, most notably Godspeed You! Black Emperor, whom the band has quoted as an influence. [1] According to the band's biography, their title roots from the name of a German town with significance to their parents. The band has toured with notable acts such as Caspian and Boris. [2]

History

Strawberry Alarm Clock and Kraftwerk

As the band Strawberry Alarm Clock began breaking up, many members moved to Germany where they met local band Kraftwerk. The two bands became close, and their children lived their childhoods together as good friends. With the intentions of a new musical path, the offspring of the two bands formed Milhaven,. [3]

Bars Closing Down and I.M. Wagner EP

Beginning first with practice and then moving toward shows, the band received attention from Sven Swift, an experimental German producer, who led the band to record their debut Bars Closing Down on the label 12rec., on February 4, 2005. [4] According to band's website, the album received the most downloads out of all the label's catalog. [5]

Having given their label positive attention, they were given new equipment and the use of a 10-track hard-drive recorder, [6] with which they utilized to record their latest release, I.M. Wagner EP, in early 2006. The 4-track EP was put out on November 2, 2006 to generally positive acclaim. [7] Their discography can be downloaded for free on the Creative Commons License on archive.org. Milhaven have been touring with Caspian.

Selftitled album

In 2010, the band released another full-length album on Austrian-based Valeot Records in a special packaging designed and hand-crafted by the band. [8] The album is also available as a digital download commercially on 12rec, or for free on the band's Bandcamp page. [9] The album cover bears no name, although the band's homepage implies the album to be referred to as Selftitled. [10] In June 2011, Milhaven supported Amplifier and dredg in a concert in Dortmund, Germany. [11]

Members have a shared appreciation for the work of bands such as Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Nirvana, Justice, Kraftwerk and Fleetwood Mac.

Luxembourg (band)

Luxembourg are an English five-piece indie band. For most of their life, the lineup consisted of David Shah, Rob Britton (guitar), Alex Potterill (keyboards), Jon Bacon (bass) and Steve Brummell (drums). Bassist Jon left the band at the end of 2006 and was replaced by David Barnett. Following the 2016 reformation Bacon and Barnett are in the band, while Potterill is not. Luxembourg have been compared to artists like Pulp, The Smiths and Pet Shop Boys and sometimes described as "pop noir".

The first album was released on UK label Plankton Records. They are currently signed to Swedish label Endtime Productions.

Seventh Angel

Seventh Angel are an English Christian metal band that formed in 1987 in Halesowen, West Midlands, England. The band was known for its combination of doom metal and thrash metal. The band initially released two albums, The Torment (1990) and Lament for the Weary (1992), before disbanding; these records achieved mainstream distribution through the Music for Nations label, making Seventh Angel label mates with such groups as Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. The Daily Telegraph called Seventh Angel "one of the leading Christian thrash metal bands in Great Britain."

The label’s focus will be on keen, young rock acts with a stylistic range that is centred on independent and alternative music, as well as acts that transcend genres and include a variety of contemporary directions. Superball Music aims to provide a platform and a "home" for these artists by specifically focusing on innovative music with commercial ambitions.

Actors&Actresses is a three-piece band from Kansas City, Missouri. Their music is characterized with having ambient guitars and downtempo vocals.

Oracles is a Belgian band formed by the couple Sven de Caluwé and Miri Milman and featuring members from Israel, Netherlands, Greece and the US. On March 13, 2014, the band had announced an indefinite hiatus and disbanded after a messy divorce between Sven and Miri, but reformed in December 2014 as Oracles, with Sanna Salou, from Dimlight, on vocals. In 2020, Miri Milman reformed System Divide, and released a new single.
