Mill Creek Island is a bar island on the Ohio River in Tyler County, West Virginia. The island lies upstream from Grandview Island and the towns of New Matamoras, Ohio and Friendly, West Virginia. It takes its name from Mill Creek, which empties into the Ohio River from the Ohio side in its vicinity. Mill Creek Island is protected as part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Witten Towhead is a bar island or "towhead" on the Ohio River in Tyler County, West Virginia. It is located to the southwest of Paden City. Witten Towhead is a part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge.

Williamson Island is a bar island on the Ohio River in Tyler County, West Virginia. It lies to the southwest of Paden City with Witten Towhead directly downstream. Along with Witten Towhead, Williamson Island is a part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge.

Wheeling Island


Wheeling Island is the most populated island in the Ohio River. It lies within the city of Wheeling in Ohio County, West Virginia, in the United States. The 2000 census showed a resident population of 3,142 people on the island, which has a land area of 1.514 square kilometres. Neville Island, PA is larger but has fewer people (1,232).

Neal Island is a bar island on the Ohio River in Wood County, West Virginia. The island lies directly offshore from the city of Vienna. A section of Neal Island is a part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge.

Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge Park in the United States of America

The Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge (ORINWR) is a National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in non-contiguous sites consisting of islands along 392 miles (631 km) of the Ohio River, primarily in the U.S. state of West Virginia. There are also two islands upstream in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, and a pair downstream in Lewis County, Kentucky. Going downstream, the refuge is currently located in parts of these counties: Beaver, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler, Pleasants, Wood, Jackson, Mason, and Lewis. All counties are in West Virginia, with the exceptions in Pennsylvania and Kentucky mentioned above. The ORINWR was established in 1990 and consists of 3,354 acres (13.57 km2) of land and underwater habitat on 22 islands and four mainland properties. The refuge headquarters and visitor center is located in Williamstown, West Virginia. Prior to its establishment, West Virginia was the only state of the United States without a NWR.

Glenn Martin National Wildlife Refuge

Glenn Martin National Wildlife Refuge includes the northern half of Smith Island, which lies 11 miles (18 km) west of Crisfield, Maryland, and Watts Island, which is located between the eastern shore of Virginia and Tangier Island. Both islands are situated in the lower Chesapeake Bay.

Robinson District, Mason County, West Virginia Magisterial district in West Virginia, United States

Robinson Magisterial District is one of ten magisterial districts in Mason County, West Virginia, United States. The district was originally established as a civil township in 1863, and converted into a magisterial district in 1872. In 2010, Robinson District was home to 3,222 people.
