Milly Shapiro is an American actress and singer. She won an honorary Tony Award in 2013 for her work in the Broadway production of Matilda the Musical . She starred in the 2018 horror film Hereditary . In 2021, Shapiro and Spencer Arjang co-created the band AFTERxCLASS.

Awards

Shapiro won a Tony Honor in 2013 with Sophia Gennusa, Bailey Ryon, and Oona Laurence for her Broadway debut in Matilda, making her the youngest recipient of the award in history. [1] In 2013, she was also nominated for the Grammy for "Best Musical Theater Album" for the musical's cast album. [2]

Personal life

Shapiro is the younger sister of Abi Monterey, [3] who is also an actress as well as a stuntwoman. The siblings perform together as the Shapiro Sisters. [4] [5] [6]

Along with her sister and mother, Shapiro was born with cleidocranial dysostosis. [7] [8] She came out as a lesbian in June 2021. [9]
