Mindanao Medical Foundation College (MMFC) is a private, non-sectarian medical college in Davao, Philippines.
Mindanao Medical Foundation College (MMFC) began as a Medical School in 1990, in the city of Davao. Owned by Senforiano Alterado together with his famous Maritime School MATS College of Technology. MMFC is now managed by his daughter Aimee Alterado-Bautista. The school uses hospital-based learning at its own Hospital with 20-bed Alterado General Hospital, which also offers a program for Overseas Filipino Workers and affiliated hospitals.
All programs were recognized by the Commission on Higher Education. The college of Nursing was issued a government Recognition No. 023, s. 1993.
The college is authorized to accept foreign students with the granting of accreditation by the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID).
MMFC is also the very first school in Mindanao to offer the Doctor of Optometry course.
The Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, also known simply as the Ateneo de Cagayan or Xavier is a private, Catholic, coeducational, basic and higher education institution. It is operated by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. Founded in 1933 as the Ateneo de Cagayan, it became the first higher education institution in Mindanao to receive a university status a year before its sister school Ateneo de Manila. It was given its present name in honor of the Jesuit missionary St. Francis Xavier.

Ateneo de Davao University is a private Catholic basic and higher education institution, run by the Philippine Province of the Society of Jesus in Davao City, Davao del Sur, Philippines. It was established in 1948 when the Jesuits took over the administration of the diocesan school, St. Peter's Parochial School. The Jesuits renamed the school to "Ateneo de Davao" after taking control. At that time, the Jesuits named all the schools that they were opening "Ateneo." Ateneo de Davao is the seventh school in the country to be named as Ateneo by the Jesuits. The university has five undergraduate schools, namely; the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Governance, School of Engineering and Architecture, School of Education and the School of Nursing. The graduate programs are under these units as well. The College of Law is a separate unit within the university. The university also runs a grade school and high school, both Junior High and Senior High.
Tagum, officially the City of Tagum, is a 1st class component city and capital of the Davao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 296,202 people making it the most populous component city in Mindanao and in Davao del Norte.

The University of the Philippines Mindanao is a public research university, serving as the sixth constituent unit of the University of the Philippines System. UP Mindanao is the only constituent university of the UP System that was created through legislative action. Republic Act 7889 formally created UP Mindanao on February 20, 1995. The university was later formally recognized as an independent constituent university by the Board of Regents of the UP System on March 23, 1995. Its main focus of education is Mindanao studies through an affirmative action program in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to attract Muslims and Lumad students, aside from the marginalized and deserving students. The university was first named University of the Philippines in Mindanao to declare the arrival of the state university in Mindanao after a long period of waiting by eager alumni and students. This was later replaced to its present name due to the request of the UP System for formalities' sake.
Trinity University of Asia, also known as TUA or simply Trinity, is a non-sectarian private university located in Quezon City, Philippines. It was named after Trinity College (Connecticut) whose president then was the founder's father. Formally established in 1963 as an elementary, high school and collegiate educational institution by the Protestant Episcopalians, it dates back its earliest establishment in 1907 when the Trinity University of Asia - St. Luke's College of Nursing, its oldest organic academic unit, was established under the St. Luke's Hospital, the present day St. Luke's Medical Center. It later acquired its university status on July 18, 2006.
Arellano University (AU) is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Manila, the Philippines. It was founded in 1938 as a law school by Florentino Cayco Sr., the first Filipino Undersecretary of Public Instruction. The university was named after Cayetano Arellano, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Leopoldo "Bong" Jumalon Vega is a Filipino physician, surgeon and former hospital administrator serving as an undersecretary of the Department of Health since 2020. Prior to joining the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, he served as medical center chief of the state-run Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City for twelve years. On July 13, 2020, Vega was appointed to the National Task Force Against Coronavirus under the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases as COVID-19 Treatment Czar.
