Minister of Posts, Telegraphs, and Telephones

The Minister of Posts and Telegraphs, to which was later added the charge of Telephones (the position was later named "Minister of Posts and Telecommunications"), was, in the Government of France, the cabinet member in charge of the French Postal Service and development of the national telecommunication system. The position was occasionally combined with Minister of Commerce and Industry or Minister of Public Works. The ministerial position does not currently exist, and its portfolio has largely been merged into other ministerial positions.

In 1906 Louis Barthou became Minister of Public Works, Posts and Telegraphs. The combined portfolio lasted until 1913.

The health portfolio oversees the health care public services and the health insurance part of the French Social Security. As French ministerial departments are not fixed and depend on the Prime Minister's choice, the Minister sometimes also has one or some of other portfolios among Work, Pensions, Family, the Elderly, Handicapped people and Women's Rights. In that case, he is helped by one or some junior Minister focusing on one part of the portfolio. The current Minister is Olivier Véran.

Minister of the Overseas (France) French government minister

The Minister of the Overseas is the official in charge of the Ministry of the Overseas in the Government of the French Republic, responsible for overseeing the Overseas France. The office was titled Minister of the Colonies until 1946.

The Minister of Commerce was a cabinet member in the Government of France. The position sometimes included responsibility for other government departments such as Public Works, Interior, Agriculture and Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones. The position has largely been merged today into the expanded Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry.

The Independent Radicals were a right-of-centre French political current during the French Third Republic. It was slightly to the right of the more famous Radical-Socialist Party, and shared many doctrinal features in common.
