Mirko Cudini (born 1 September 1973) is an Italian professional football coach and a former player.

Club career

He played three seasons (36 games, 1 goal) in the Serie A for Torino and Ascoli.

In January 2007, he left for Serie B club Vicenza. [1] In exchange, Ascoli signed Leandro Vitiello in co-ownership deal.

In 2008–09 season he left for Prima Divisione club Perugia. In July 2009 he left for Monza. [2]

Coaching career

On 5 July 2019, he was appointed head coach of Serie D club Campobasso. [3] He guided Campobasso to promotion in the 2020–21 Serie D, and was confirmed in charge of the Rossoblu also for the club's comeback season to Serie C.

After guiding Campobasso to safety in their 2021–22 Serie C campaign, on 30 April 2022, Cudini announced his departure from the Rossoblu. [4] On 15 June 2022, Cudini was unveiled as the new head coach of Serie C club Fidelis Andria. [5] On 1 November 2022, following a string of negative results that left Fidelis Andria deep into relegation zone, both Cudini and sporting director Sandro Federico were dismissed from their respective roles. [6]

On 26 July 2023, Cudini was unveiled as the new head coach of Serie C club Foggia. [7] He was dismissed from his role on 14 December 2023, following negative results during his tenure. [8] A month later, on 23 January 2024, Cudini was however reinstated as Foggia boss. [9]

On 2 July 2024, Cudini signed a two-year contract as head coach of fellow Serie C club Pineto. [10] He was sacked on 7 October 2024 due to negative results. [11]

The 2015–16 Serie B was the 84th season since its establishment in 1929. A total of 22 teams contested the league: 16 returning from the 2014–15 season, 4 promoted from Lega Pro, and 2 relegated from Serie A. Vacancies created by the bankruptcy of Serie A-relegated Parma and the demotion of Catania to Lega Pro due to match fixing allowed Brescia to remain in the league despite being relegated. Furthermore, Teramo was due to participate to Serie B but due to the allegations for match-fixing, the Courts decided to relegate Teramo in the last place of Lega Pro of the previous season. After the demotion of Catania, Virtus Entella was readmitted into Serie B as the best team of the relegated teams from the previous season. Furthermore, Ascoli was promoted into the championship after finishing second in Lega Pro Group B, second after Teramo before being stripped of the title for the match-fixing scandal.

The 2019–20 Serie B was the 88th season since its establishment in 1929. The 20-team format returned after 16 years, the last time being in the 2002–03 season. The season was scheduled to run from 23 August 2019 to 14 May 2020, though on 9 March 2020, the Italian government halted the league until 3 April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy. Serie B did not resume play on this date. On 18 May, it was announced that Italian football would be suspended until 14 June. On 28 May, it was announced that Serie B would resume starting from 20 June.
