At the end of the event, Sofía Silva of Bolívar crowned Gisela Bolaños of Carabobo as Miss Venezuela 1953. It is the first victory of Carabob in the pageant's history. Contestants from 12 states competed in this year's pageant. The competition was hosted by

Miss Venezuela is a national Beauty pageant held in Venezuela. It is preceded by two or three months of preliminary events, with the awarding of corporate prizes. The final televised competition generally lasts about four hours and is broadcast live across Latin America by Venevisión and produced by the networks parent company Cisneros Group, with edited versions to the United States and Mexico on the Univision and Telemundo networks. Jasmin Selberg of Germany crowned Andrea Rubio of Venezuela as her successor at the end of the event, marking the ninth time that Venezuela won the competition - the most wins in the pageant's history.
