Mission Valley League

The Mission Valley League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Southern Section. Member schools are all in the west side of the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County [1] It was created in 1972 with eight schools: El Monte, Arroyo, Rosemead, Mt. View, Schurr, San Gabriel, Keppel, and Monrovia. [2]

CIF Southern Section organization

The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Mono and Inyo counties, as well as a small portion of Kern County. Teams from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and surrounding areas have competed in the CIF Los Angeles City Section since 1935. Needles High School, at the far eastern edge of San Bernardino County, and Coleville High School, in the far north of Mono County, are members of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association. CIFSS's offices are located in Los Alamitos.

Arroyo High School (El Monte, California) high school in El Monte, California

Arroyo High School, located in El Monte, California, United States, is a school in the El Monte Union High School District. The attendance area served by Arroyo High School consists of four different communities: El Monte, Temple City, Arcadia, and an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.

El Monte High School in El Monte, California, is a public high school of the El Monte Union High School District. It is one of the oldest high schools in the San Gabriel Valley. Founded in 1901, it began operation in a single, upstairs classroom in the old Lexington Avenue Grammar School, with an enrollment of 12-15 students. By 1908, the high school had its own campus and 65 students. Today, enrollment is approximately 2000. Over 80% of students are of Hispanic origin and over 17% are characterized as Asian/Pacific Islander.

Gabrielino High School

Gabrielino High School is a public high school located on San Gabriel Boulevard in San Gabriel, California, 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Los Angeles, serving the 9th to 12th grades. It was established in 1994. Gabrielino High School is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Cerritos High School, also called CHS, is a comprehensive, four-year public high school located in Cerritos, California, serving grades 9-12. It is part of the ABC Unified School District.

Duarte High School is a public high school located in Duarte, California and is part of Duarte Unified School District. Duarte High School currently has 950 students enrolled. Their mascot is the falcon. It was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2007 for its high test scores and academic achievement.

Mark Keppel High School high school in Alhambra, California, USA

Mark Keppel High School is a four-year California Distinguished School located in the city of Alhambra, California, in the Alhambra Unified School District. The school is on the southern edge of Alhambra, adjacent to the city of Monterey Park, and borders the Interstate 10 Freeway. Mark Keppel serves students from portions of Alhambra, Monterey Park, and Rosemead. Mark Keppel has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 1996, 2002, 2008, and 2014.

Monrovia High School

Monrovia High School is a public high school located in Monrovia, California, a northeastern suburb of Los Angeles, United States. Monrovia High School is the only grades 9–12 comprehensive high school in the Monrovia Unified School District. Established in 1893, the campus is located in an environment of neo-Spanish architecture, green lawns, hundred-year-old oak trees, and is nestled against the San Gabriel Mountains. The portion of the campus designed in 1928 is the work of noted Los Angeles architect John C. Austin.

Walnut High School

Walnut High School is located in Walnut, California among the San Jose Hills of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California. Ranked in the top 100 high schools in America by the Daily Beast Publication - it is also located within the prestigious Walnut Valley Unified School District which has also been ranked by numerous sources to be one of the top public school districts in all of Southern California. The El Monte Union High School District (EMUHSD) is a public high school district with its headquarters in El Monte, California. The district employs 623 certificated employees and 625 classified employees. The professional staff provides educational programs for over 10,000 students in grades 9 through 12.
