Missouri's 17th Senatorial District is one of 34 districts in the Missouri Senate. The district has been represented by Democrat Maggie Nurrenbern since 2025. [2] [3]

Contents

Geography

The district is based in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The district is in southwestern Clay County, with major municipalities including Claycomo, Gladstone, North Kansas City, and Pleasant Valley. [4] The district is also home to Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, Oceans of Fun, and Worlds of Fun.

The Kansas City International Airport is located in the county, approximately one mile west of Interstate 29 between mile markers 12 and 15. The land for the airport was originally in an unincorporated portion of Platte County before being annexed by Platte City, and eventually Kansas City.
