In the semi-finals, Camacho-Quinn set her personal best and Olympic record of 12.26 seconds, which is tied for the fifth fastest time in history. Sonido Tré is a latin music trio comprising vocalists Mayda Belén Rivera and Edgar Ríos, and Quique Domenech on Cuatro. All three members were born in Puerto Rico. Domenech studied the cuatro from the age of six. At 11 he entered a five-year program at the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture studying the cuatro and music theory. He has been nominated twice for a Latin Grammy. Rivera was a semifinalist on Latin American Idol. The newest member of Sonido Tré is Edgar Ríos. Ríos was a member of the a cappella group Nota, winners of the NBC show The Sing-Off.
Miss Supranational is an annual international beauty pageant, started in 2009, and with most contests held in Poland. A parallel male contest, Mister Supranational, was launched in 2016, also in Poland.
The 2024 Puerto Rico gubernatorial election will be held on November 5, 2024, to elect the governor of Puerto Rico, concurrently with the election of the Resident Commissioner, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the mayors of the 78 municipalities. Incumbent New Progressive Party Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia is running for re-election to a second term in office.
Miss Grand Puerto Rico is a national title bestowed upon a woman chosen to represent Puerto Rico at Miss Grand International, an annual international beauty pageant promoting peace and opposing all forms of conflict. The national pageant of Miss Grand International for Puerto Rico is currently conducted by Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico, Inc., to which MGI PLC, the owner of Miss Grand International, awarded the franchise in 2016. One of the winners of the "Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico" pageant gets the title of Miss Grand Puerto Rico.
