Mixtape Madness is a British urban music outlet and an entertainment and distribution platform based in London, United Kingdom. [1] [2] The platform was founded in 2010 by a group of friends. [3] [4] Mixtape Madness is the 3rd biggest media outlet platform in the UK, behind GRM Daily and Link Up TV. [4]
Mixtape Madness was formed in 2010 as a place where users could go and stream or download British mixtapes without having to go to American websites that lacked a focus on British music, such as DatPiff. [4] [3]
Mixtape Madness hosts talk shows called MMTalks that feature people involved in the British urban music industry. The topics covered are varied, with some focusing on how to build a music business, or how to build your profile as a musician. [5]
Mixtape Madness also has a YouTube channel, where artists can release music. Various artists have released their music through the platform, such as Headie One, Unknown T, SL, and EO. [3] [4] [6]
In July 2018, Mixtape Madness hosted a stage at The Butterfly Effect Festival in London. [7]
On 1 April 2019, Mixtape Madness partnered with Caroline International in a worldwide sales and distribution deal. Caroline would also be responsible for marketing services when required. [3] [8]
Mixtape Madness partnered with the FIFA eWorld Cup, an esports competition that was hosted at The O2 in London, to bring 4 hip hop artists to perform and compete in a rap competition in the arena prior to the eWorld Cup's final. The winner out of the 4 artists would receive a FIFA Head 2 Head Freestyle Champion 2019 award. The Mixtape Madness YouTube channel hosts three freestyle series' called Next Up, The Cold Room and Mad About Bars, the latter is hosted by Tweeko, a renowned British Sound Engineer and the third of which is hosted by Kenny Allstar. [14] [15] [16] Artists such as Unknown T, Skengdo & AM, and M Huncho have received significant attention through their Mad About Bars freestyles. [17] [18] [19] [20] Unknown T personally credited Mad About Bars for being "huge" for him and for "opening doors". [21] Skengdo & AM's freestyle has over 30 million views, [22] substantially higher to most other Mad About Bars. [23] Loski's Mad About Bars freestyle had over a million views, before being removed by YouTube. [24]

UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards. Irving Ampofo Adjei, known professionally as Headie One, is a British rapper and singer. M Huncho is a British rapper and singer from London. He performed a Mad About Bars online freestyle session in 2017, and releasing his first EP Get Out that October, with the single "Mediocre" and another EP, 48 Hours, following in 2018. 2019 debut studio mixtape 'Utopia' has been streamed over 77 million times globally, and reached number 13 on the UK Albums Chart. His second mixtape, Huncholini the 1st, was released in January 2020 and peaked at number 5 in the UK. M Huncho has also worked with Nafe Smallz, Yxng Bane, Headie One, Yung Bleu, Dutchavelli and Unknown T.
Skengdo x AM, whose real names are Terrell Daniel Doyley and Joshua Malinga, respectively, are a British hip hop duo from Brixton, London. They are both members of the UK drill group and alleged gang, 410, which is known to have conflict with neighbouring Harlem Spartans, based in Kennington. The duo gained some media attention in 2019 where they were handed a suspended jail sentence due to performing a song that police alleged encouraged gang violence.
Tariq Kenedy Mangal Monteiro known professionally as Sus or Suspect, is a British rapper and convicted murderer; he is a member of the UK drill collective Active Gxng, who are based in the Agar Grove estate within Camden Town, London. He released his debut mixtape, Suspicious Activity, in 2022.
Rhys Angelo Emile Herbert, known professionally as Digga D, is a British rapper. He rose to fame in 2017 along with his UK drill collective CGM. His mixtapes Double Tap Diaries and Made In The Pyrex reached No. 10 and 3 on the UK Albums Chart, respectively. His third mixtape Noughty By Nature was released on 15 April 2022, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart. His fourth mixtape Back To Square One was released in August 2023.

Andre Deer, known professionally as Double Lz, is a British rapper and songwriter. He is a former member of the UK drill group OFB. Debuting in 2018, he released two mixtapes - Frontstreet and Drill Commandments - alongside Bandokay and SJ in 2019 and 2021, respectively. He released his debut solo mixtape, Two Lz Make a Win, in 2022.

Noughty by Nature is the third commercial mixtape by British rapper Digga D. It was released on 15 April 2022 by CGM. It features guest appearances from Still Brickin', Rack5, Dodgy, Horrid1, AJ Tracey, and Maverick Sabre, and American rappers B-Lovee, Moneybagg Yo, and Hotboii. The extended edition adds a further guest appearance from Arrdee. The mixtape debuted atop the UK Albums Chart, becoming Digga D's first number-one album.
