<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mizo National Front</span> Political party in India

The Mizo National Front is a regional political party in Mizoram, India. MNF emerged from the Mizo National Famine Front, which was formed by Pu Laldenga to protest against the inaction of the Indian central government towards the famine situation in the Mizo areas of the Assam state in 1959. It staged a major uprising in 1966, followed by years of underground activities. In 1986, it signed the Mizoram Accord with the Government of India, renouncing secession and violence. Mizoram Secular Force (MSF) was a political alliance in Mizoram, launched ahead of the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. MSF comprised Indian National Congress, Mizoram People's Conference and Zoram Nationalist Party. In the elections, MSF had a joint candidate for the sole Mizoram, Laltluangliana Khiangte. Khiangte lost the seat with 159,170 votes. Khiangte won in 9 out of 40 assembly constituencies making up the Lok Sabha constituency.

The Mizoram People's Conference was a regional political party in Mizoram, India. It was formed by Brig Thenphunga Sailo on 17 April 1975. Ṭhenphunga was the party chairman and Chief Minister of Mizoram from 1979 to 1984, and an army officer and then a human rights activist before starting his political party.

Lalduhoma is an Indian politician and a former Indian Police Service officer from Mizoram. Resigning from the security service to the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he was elected as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha from Mizoram in 1984. He left the Indian National Congress, the party from which he was elected, for which he was disqualified from the parliament. He became the first MP to be discharged upon anti-defection law in India.

The Mizoram Legislative Assembly election, 2013 was held on 25 November 2013 in all 40 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram. Results were declared on 9 December. The main contest was between incumbent the Indian National Congress and the Mizo National Front led Mizoram Democratic Alliance. Incumbent Chief Minister Pu Lalthanhawla and his party Indian National Congress won a majority and continued in government.

United Democratic Front is a front of eight political parties in the Indian state of Mizoram. The front fielded Robert Romawia Royte for Mizoram's lone Lok Sabha constituency in the 2014 Indian general election. Founded in March 2014, it supports the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). It was agreed that, if Royte wins the election, he would support the NDA in the Lok Sabha. Royte lost the election to Indian National Congress' C. L. Ruala by a margin of 11,361 votes.

The Zoram People's Movement is an alliance of seven party to form non Indian National Congress non Mizo National Front government formed by Mizoram People's Conference. It is an alliance movement, the members are Mizoram People's Conference Zoram Nationalist Party, Zoram Exodus Movement, Zoram Decentralisation Front, Zoram Reformation Front and Mizoram People's Party. Later all these parties merged into a single entity. In 2018 Mizoram Legislative Assembly election, it has emerged as movement group and support some independent candidate with same symbol, flag and policy and won 8 seats. Lalnghinglova Hmar is a journalist and sports promoter in Mizoram, India. He works as the joint editor of Vanglaini, a leading daily newspaper in Mizo language. He is also currently the honorary secretary of Mizoram Football Association and Executive Committee member of the All India Football Federation. Through his journalism and sports activities, he has been credited with the revolution of football in Mizoram. He helped to establish the Mizoram Premier League, for which he is recognised as the father of Mizo football.

He defeated Lalthanliana of Mizoram People's Conference, the then sitting MLA, H. Liansailova of Indian National Congress, and Laltlanzova Khiangte of Mizo National Front.
