The Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit (MRT) system serving the city of Mumbai and the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region in Maharashtra, India.
Bhandup is a suburban locality in Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra, India. The name Bhandup is derived from Bhandupeshwar, one of the names of the Hindu god Shiva. An old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Bhandupeshwar Mahadev Mandir, is located in Bhandup (west) near Moti Bai Wadi IDUBS high school. Sonapur signal is north lead line on L.B.S. Marg and south is dockyard colony. Bhandup railway station is on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. A few fast trains stop at Bhandup station, mostly during the peak hours.
The Salsette–Trombay Railway was a standard-gauge railway line on the island of Salsette in the city of Mumbai (Bombay), India. The line was opened in 1928 by the Great Indian Peninsular Railway under the Bombay Improvement Trust which called for "the opening up of a Railway line running West to South-east and linking up the Andheri and Kurla stations to render available for building purposes vast tracts of land sufficiently close to the city." Hence, the line linked Andheri in the north with the village of Trombay in the east. The rail line was about 13 km long. During weekends, the line was frequented by picnickers who used to travel to Trombay to buy toddy or palm liquor.

It is located at a distance of 6 Km from Andheri Railway station on the Western line and around 4 Km from Ghatkopar Railway Station on the Central line. Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) is located at a distance of less than 1 km. It is bound on the north by the Powai lake, on the East by Powai/Hiranandani complex, on the south by Saki Naka and by Marol on the West.There is film studio, one of the oldest in Mumbai with the same name on Chandivali Farm Road and is still active. The locality has a large gated community, Raheja Vihar right at the heart of the area.
Andheri is a passenger rail station located at Andheri suburb of Mumbai. It serves the Western line and Harbour lines of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. It is also a stop for some express trains and August Kranti Rajdhani Express. The station also inter-connects the Line 1 of the Andheri metro station. Andheri station first came under prominence after the development of Salsette–Trombay Railway services in 1928 by the British Empire of India during the pre-independence period.

Red Line 9 (extension) of the Mumbai Metro is part of the metro system for the city of Mumbai, India. Metro Line 9 is an extension of the Red Line from Andheri to CSMIA and Dahisar to Mira Road. This line will be unique from the other metro lines because it will run on a double-decker bridge. There will be a flyover on the first deck and the metro will run on the second deck. The flyover will start near the proposed Shivaji Chowk metro station and will end in Bhayander (West) via Mira Bhayander Road. It shall provide interconnectivity among the Western Express Highway, the Western Line, and the Mumbai Metro.
