Mohakhali Bus Terminal is one of three main inter-city bus stations in Dhaka (local name tangail or mymensingh bus stand), [1] opened in 1984. [2] Located in the Mohakhali neighbourhood, it primarily serves destinations in northern Bangladesh, including Tangail, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Kishoreganj, and Bogra. [3] [4]
Renovations to the terminal were completed in 2005. The 15 crore taka ($2.3M) rehabilitation was part of the Dhaka Urban Transport Project, funded by a World Bank loan. [4]
The 36,400-square-metre (9.0-acre) site can accommodate 300 buses. As of 2015, companies operate 800 daily trips from the terminal, on 60 different routes. [1]
Tangail is a district (zila) in the central region of Bangladesh. In 1969, Tangail district was created by Tangail Mohokuma from its 237 square kilometers of land and 3177 square kilometers of land acquired from Mymensingh district. It is the largest district of Dhaka division by area and second largest by population. The population of Tangail zila is about 4 million and its area is 3,414.28 square kilometres (1,318.26 sq mi). The main city of the district is Tangail. Mohakhali fly-over, the first of its kind was opened to traffic on November 2004. Mohakhali General Market is situated beside the flyover bridge close to the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
Hossainpur is an upazila of Kishoreganj District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The city is located on the bank of Brahmaputra river. The distance of Hossainpur is 14 km from Kishoreganj District and 95 km from Dhaka Mohakhali bus station.

Tangail Stadium also called Tangail Zila Stadium is located at Club Road, north side of Bhashani Hall and Tangail Eid-gah, 200 metres away and west side of Shaheed Sriti Poura Uddan in the district of Tangail, Bangladesh. It is a multipurpose stadium. football, Cricket, concerts and cultural programs take place here. Until 2013 the stadium was the home ground of Team BJMC which played in Bangladesh Premier League Football. It is the 3rd biggest stadium in Dhaka division

Tangail District is quite famous for its zamindari rule with three of the largest zamindars in the region believed to have been established during the Mughal period. In addition, several small zamindar classes developed in this area, whose reputation is still evident. One of such zamindar is Mohera Zamindar Bari. Mohera Zamindar Bari is a 19th-century Zamidari residence in Mirzapur, Tangail District, Bangladesh. It is used as a police training school. The zamindar house was established in the mirzapur before the 1890s. Mohera zamindar Bari is the most preserved and maintained zamindari Bari of Bangladesh locally. There is no such zamindari Bari as preserved and maintained as it is in the country. The zamindari Bari represents our culture, lifestyle, and history during British time.
