General Mohamed Adam Ahmed (born 1950) was the Chief Staff of Somali Armed Forces. He took charge on 24 September 2015 after a major reshuffle in Somali force leaders including police. [1] [2] He served until April 2017,where he was replaced when President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed make a shakeup. [3]
He is one of the long serving Somali military generals. He studied at different military colleges including Military Academy (Cairo,Egypt),Command and General Staff College (at the Frunze Military Academy,Moscow,Soviet Union) and U.S. Army War College Strategy Studies.
The Somali Armed Forces are the military forces of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Headed by the president as commander-in-chief,they are constitutionally mandated to ensure the nation's sovereignty,independence and territorial integrity.

The Somali Civil War is an ongoing civil war that is taking place in Somalia. It grew out of resistance to the military junta which was led by Siad Barre during the 1980s. From 1988 to 1990,the Somali Armed Forces began engaging in combat against various armed rebel groups,including the Somali Salvation Democratic Front in the northeast,the Somali National Movement in the northwest,and the United Somali Congress in the south. The clan-based armed opposition groups overthrew the Barre government in 1991.

The Somali Air Force is the air force of Somalia. Called the Somali Aeronautical Corps (SAC) during its pre-independence period (1954–1960),the Somali Air Force was renamed as such after Somalia gained independence in 1960. Ali Matan Hashi,Somalia's first pilot and person principally responsible for organizing the SAF,was its founder and served as its first Chief. At one point,the Somali Air Force had the strongest airstrike capability in the Horn of Africa. But by the time President Siad Barre fled Mogadishu in 1991,it had completely collapsed. Levi Karuhanga was a major general in Uganda. He was the Chairman of the UPDF General Court Martial,one of the highest military courts in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF). He was appointed to that position in June 2014 by Yoweri Museveni,the commander in chief of the UPDF and the president of Uganda. He replaced Moses Ddiba Ssentongo whose one-year tenure at the court had expired. Karuhanga had previously served as the Commander of the Reserve Force in the UPDF.

During the 1970s,he served as a pilot in the Somali Air Force under the Siad Barre administration. In 2010,Bihi was appointed the chairman of the ruling Kulmiye of Republic of Somaliland. In November 2015,Bihi was selected as the party's Presidential Candidate at the 5th annual central committee convention.
Lieutenant General Sarath Chand,PVSM,UYSM,AVSM,VSM is an Indian politician and former Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) of the Indian Army. He served as Vice Chief of Army Staff from 13 January 2017 till his retirement on 31 May 2018. He joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 6 April 2019.
