Alhaji Mohamed B. Daramy (born 1955 in Panguma, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District, British Sierra Leone) is a Sierra Leonean politician. Daramy has many years of experience in industry, the private sector and in government having served as Minister of Labour, Minister of Trade, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Finance and recently Minister of Development and Economic Planning. Daramy was born to late Alhaji Kemoh Daramy and Hadja Nmama Turay Daramy at Panguma, Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District within the Eastern Province of British Sierra Leone. Both of his parents came from the Mandingo ethnic group.
He completed his primary education at the Kailahun Primary School in Kailahun and later attended the Bo Government Secondary School in Bo where he successfully attained both his O and A level certificates.
Daramy moved to the United States where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Business Administration with a Finance major. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
He is a former excellent soccer star who earned All-American status while at his at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. He was drafted to play professional football but he turn down the offer to concentrate on school.
Kenema is the third largest city in Sierra Leone, and the largest city in the country's Eastern Province. It is the capital of Kenema District and a major economic center of the Eastern Province. At the 2015 national census, Kenema had a population of 200,354. Kenema is located approximately 200 miles from Freetown, and 60 kilometres (40 mi) south of Bo.

John Oponjo Benjamin is a Sierra Leonean economist and politician of Mende descent. He was the leader of the main opposition Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) to 2013. He served as Minister of Finance of Sierra Leone from 2002 to 2007. During that period, Benjamin helped lead Sierra Leone through the Paris Club's 100% debt cancellation program. Benjamin was the chairman of the Council of State Secretaries in 1992.
Segbwema is a town in Kailahun District in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone. The town is a major business and agricultural centre. Segbwema lies approximately 20 miles northeast of Kenema and about 225 miles south-east of Freetown. The population of Segbwema was 7,961 in the 2004 census with a current estimate of 16,532.

Paramount Chief Ella Koblo Gulama OBE, GCOR was a Sierra Leonean paramount chief and politician. In 1957, she became the first elected female Member of Parliament in Sierra Leone. She was re-elected in 1962. During the government of Milton Margai, Gulama became Sierra Leone and sub-Saharan Africa's first female Cabinet Minister.
Bernadette Lahai, CRSL is a Sierra Leonean politician and the current Minority Leader of Parliament of Sierra Leone. She is the leader of the main opposition Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament. She currently represent Constituency 13 from Kenema District in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament.
Education in Sierra Leone is legally required for all children for six years at primary level and three years in junior secondary education, but a shortage of schools and teachers has made implementation impossible. The Sierra Leone Civil War resulted in the destruction of 1,270 primary schools and in 2001 67 percent of all school-age children were out of school. The situation has improved considerably since then with primary school enrollment doubling between 2001 and 2005 and the reconstruction of many schools since the end of the war. However, there is still a long ways to go. In 2004, Junior secondary school enrollment was only 17% of primary school enrollment, and senior secondary school enrollment was only 8% of primary school education.

He was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone from 2012 to 2017, Minister of Finance and Economic Development from 2009 to 2013, Governor of the Bank of Sierra Leone from 2007 to 2009, Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance during President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah's administration.
