Mohamed Dini Farah (Somali : Maxamed Diini Faarax) (born 1943 [1] ) is a Djiboutian politician. He is a former minister and President of the Parliamentary Group of the People's Rally for Progress (RPP), currently serving as a deputy in the National Assembly of Djibouti.

Farah was born in Tadjourah. He was Minister of the Civil Service and Administrative Reform from 8 June 1995 to 19 April 1997, [1] then Minister of Public Works. [1] [2] Farah was elected to the National Assembly in the December 1997 parliamentary election [1] as the second candidate on the joint candidate list of the RPP and the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD) in Tadjourah Region. [3] Following this election, he was appointed as Minister of Justice, in charge of Human Rights, on 28 December 1997. [2] [4]

Farah was subsequently appointed as Minister of Health on 12 May 1999. [5] He was re-elected in the January 2003 parliamentary election [1] as the second candidate on the candidate list of the governing coalition, the Union for a Presidential Majority (UMP), in Tadjourah Region. [6] In the National Assembly, he became the President of the RPP Parliamentary Group. [1]

In addition to serving on the RPP Central Committee, [1] Farah was elected to the RPP Executive Committee as the party's National Secretary for Youth on 3 July 2003. [7] He is also Honorary President of the RPP National Youth League as of 2003. [8]

In the February 2008 parliamentary election, Farah was the 13th candidate on the candidate list of the governing coalition, the Union for a Presidential Majority (UMP), in the District of Djibouti. [9] He was re-elected to a seat, and after the election, he was appointed as President of the National Defense and Security Commission in the National Assembly on 25 February 2008. [10]

Ahmed Dini Ahmed

Ahmed Dini Ahmed was a Djiboutian politician. He was trained as a health technician and entered the political realm at age 26. He served as Vice-president of the Representative Council of French Somaliland from April 1959 to June 1960, he was a member of the government of Ali Aref Bourhan in 1962-1964, he then participated in the foundation of the Afar Democratic Union (UDA). He is Minister of Home Affairs until 1971. In 1975, he became spokesman for the new African People's League for Independence (LPAI), led by Hassan Gouled Aptidon and was later Prime Minister of Djibouti from 1977 to 1978. In July 1977, he became Prime Minister of the new Republic of Djibouti. In December, after the bombing of the Palm in Zinc, and the consequent ban on the Movement for the Liberation (MPL), he resigned and returned to the opposition. He led the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD), an Afar rebel group, during the civil war of the 1990s; after the group split in 1994, he led a radical faction of FRUD.

The Social Democratic People's Party is a centre-left, social democratic political party, in Djibouti, founded in 2002 and led by Moumin Bahdon Farah. It is part of the governing coalition, the Union for a Presidential Majority (UMP).

2008 Djiboutian parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections were held in Djibouti on 8 February 2008. There were 65 candidates running for the 65 seats in the National Assembly, with all of the candidates coming from the ruling coalition, the Union for the Presidential Majority (UMP). The opposition boycotted the election, and the UMP won all 65 seats.

Moumin Bahdon Farah was a Djiboutian politician and the President of the Social Democratic People's Party (PPSD). He was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1978 to 1993 and Minister of Justice from 1993 to 1996. Concurrently, he was a member of the National Assembly of Djibouti.
