Mohamed Hegazy Abdul Mawgoud (born 11 November 1963) is an Egyptian lieutenant general who is the current commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces. Prior to his appointment as commander of Air Defense, he served as chief of the Air Defense until December 2020.
Hegazy graduated from the Egyptian Air Defense Academy in 1986. [1] He obtained MA with military science from the Command and Staff College. He also attended Nasser Military Academy where he obtained his military courses. [2]

The Egyptian Armed Forces are the military forces of the Arab Republic of Egypt. They consist of the Egyptian Army, Egyptian Navy, Egyptian Air Force and Egyptian Air Defense Forces.
Muhammad Hussein Tantawi Soliman was an Egyptian field marshal and politician. He was the commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and, as chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, was the de facto head of state from the ousting of President Hosni Mubarak on 11 February 2011 until the inauguration of Mohamed Morsi as president of Egypt on 30 June 2012.
Abdul Munim Riad was a general and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces. He commanded the Jordanian Armed Forces during the 1967 Six-Day War and later led the Egyptian forces in the War of Attrition. Riad and several of his aides were killed during the war in 1969. This day is observed as Egyptian Martyr's Day.
The Egyptian Military College is the oldest and most prominent military academy in Egypt. One of the colleges of the Egyptian Military Academy Traditionally, graduates of the Military Academy are commissioned as officers in the Egyptian Army. However, they may serve in other branches and commands of the Egyptian military establishment.
Ahmed Mohamed Shafik Zaki is an Egyptian politician and former presidential candidate. He was a senior commander in the Egyptian Air Force and later served as Prime Minister of Egypt from 29 January 2011 to 3 March 2011 under Hosni Mubarak.
Mourad Mouwafi or Muwafi is an Egyptian politician and major-general. Mouwafi was also the governor of Northern Sinai during a 2011 uprising in the region. He was appointed the Director of the Egyptian Intelligence shortly before the end of the Mubarak regime. He was dismissed by former President Mohamed Morsi from the position on 8 August 2012.
The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is a statutory body of between 20 and 25 senior officers of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and is headed by Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki. The council is convened only in cases of war or great internal emergencies.
Abd el-Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi is an Egyptian politician and retired military officer who has served as the sixth and current president of Egypt since 2014. Before retiring as a general in the Egyptian military in 2014, Sisi served as Egypt's deputy prime minister from 2013 to 2014, minister of defense from 2012 to 2013, and director of military intelligence from 2010 to 2012. He was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal in January 2014.
Sedki Sobhy Sayyid Ahmad is an Egyptian politician and former General who was Minister of Defence of Egypt from 2014 until 2018. Sobhy previously served as the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces from August 2012 to March 2014. He was sworn in as Minister of Defence in March 2014 after Abdul Fattah al-Sisi resigned so he could stand for the presidency. He also commanded the Third Army for a time.
Abdul Meniem Al-Toras is the former Commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Command. He graduated from the Air Defense college in 1972, and saw action in the Yom Kippur War. He is the first commander-in-chief of the Egyptian Air Defense Forces who graduated from the Air Defense College and was commissioned in the Air Defense Forces as a separated military branch. All previous commanders-in-chief were graduates of the Army academy and were commissioned in Army units, in fact many of them were commissioned in non-AD units like Armour, Artillery, Infantry, and Signals. He held most of the notable commands in the Egyptian Air Defense. On 14 August 2012 President Mohamed Morsi Appointed him as the new Commander in Chief of the Egyptian Air Defence command after he dismissed Lt. General Abd El Aziz Seif-Eldeen. He is a member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which was reorganized in September 2012.

Air Marshal Younes Hamed Al-Masri is the Minister of Civil Aviation, and was the Commander of the Egyptian Air Force from 2012 until 2018.
Mahmoud Badr is an Egyptian activist and journalist. He co-founded the Tamarod ("Rebel") movement and serves as its official spokesman and one of its principal leaders. Tamarod claimed to have gathered millions of signatures, that were never independently verified, demanding the resignation of Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and organized mass protests which preceded the 2013 Egyptian coup d'état removing Morsi from power. Recent audio tapes secretly recorded in the offices of the deputy ministers to Al-Sisi – and authenticated by independent expert analysis from France – establish the movement as an arm of the military coup. Senior officials of the coup are heard on the tapes bragging about how good they were at falsifying evidence against Morsi, at forgery and at torture. The list of plotters included Deputy Defense Minister Mamdouh Shaheen and Gen. Abbas Kamel, the chief of staff to Gen. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the top military commander regarded as the mastermind behind the coup.
Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Ali is the media adviser to the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the ex spokesperson of the Egyptian Army. He was appointed first Army Sopkesman on the backdrop of the deposition of president Mohamed Morsi, and his official Army Spokesman Facebook page exceeded 2,000,000 followers at the time, and the Egyptian media kept a close and attentive watch of the statuses published by the army, often resulting in army related articles and reports.
Mahmoud Ibrahim Mahmoud Hegazy is an Egyptian general who was the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces from 2014 to 2017. Hegazy graduated from the Egyptian Military Academy in 1977, and served as the Chief of the Egyptian Military intelligence before his appointment as Chief of Staff by the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He is related to Sisi through the marriage of their respective children. Mahmoud Hegazy was replaced in 2017 by Mohammed Farid Hegazy in a shakeup of high level security personnel. No reason was given for the changes, but since 2013, Egypt has been fighting an ongoing Islamist insurgency that has killed of hundreds of policemen and soldiers. A week before the dismissal, sixteen policemen were killed during a police operation in the western desert of Giza province, and two high level security personnel for Giza were also dismissed. Hegazy was given a position of security advisor to the president. He is a member of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces is second in command after the Minister of Defense and the President. He usually holds the second highest military rank. Commanders of the Navy, Air Force and Air Defense Forces are under his command.

Magdy Fouad Hegazy is the Egyptian former governor of Aswan Governorate, Egypt. He was appointed by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on December 26, 2015. He was formerly Chief of Air Defense Staff the Egyptian Air Defense Command. General Hegazy studied in the Air Defense College and graduated on September 1, 1973, and served as a platoon radar officer of an SA-6 platoon. He held many important positions during his career, including leading an air defense battalion, a brigade, a military region and a training course. Hegazy has been awarded several medals and decorations such as the Longevity & Exemplary Medal and the Distinguished Service Decoration.
The Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance Administration, is the agency of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense responsible for military intelligence. It is one of the three Egyptian intelligence services, along with the General Intelligence Service (GIS) and National Security Agency.
Alwan Hassoon Alwan Al-Abousi is a retired Iraqi Air Force Major General. He was born in Basra, Iraq and attended to join the Iraqi Air Force Academy in 1961 and was commissioned as a MiG-17 fighter pilot in 1965. He graduated with a B.Sc in Aviation Science from the Egyptian Air Force Academy in 1970. Subsequently, he received an MA in military science from the Iraqi Staff College at Al-Bakr University. His foreign military training includes training in Egypt, India, Russia, France, and Greece. During the Iran–Iraq War, he served as commander of multiple squadrons, groups, and air bases. Late in the war, he became the director and deputy commander of air force training. In the early 1990s, General Abousi became the dean of the national defense for higher political and military studies, and later the commander of air force administration.
