Mohammed Moshiar Rahman (born 2 January 1962) is a senior Bangladeshi administrator and former Chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). [1]

Career

Rahman served as Chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority until 2019. During this period, the BRTA announced that all drivers in Bangladesh must obtain valid licenses by 30 June 2019, as part of efforts to address unlicensed driving. [2] While he was in office, the BRTA engaged with national and international stakeholders to support road safety initiatives. The agency participated in the Fourth United Nations Global Road Safety Week in collaboration with BRAC, with activities focused on sustainable urban mobility and promoting safer behaviour among road users. [3] There were calls for his resignation based on allegations of corruption. [4] [5]
