Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa (born September 1947) is a Bahraini politician, who served in different cabinet posts for nearly thirty years between 1993 and 2022.
Mutawa was born in September 1947. [1] He received degrees in philosophy, psychology, and social sciences from the University of Alexandria. [2]
In 1972, Mutawa started his career as the head of youth activities at the then-labor and social affairs ministry. [1] In 1974, he began to serve at the prime minister's office. [2] In 1977, he was appointed executive director of the office which he held until 1993. [2] He served as the minister of cabinet affairs from 1993 to 2005. [2] From 26 June 1995 to 2001, he served as the minister of information. [2] [3] In 2001, he was appointed minister of the premier's affairs. [1] From 2002 to 2006, he served as the minister of the cabinet affairs. [1]
Mutawa was appointed cultural affairs advisor to prime minister in 2005. [2] In 2009, he was nominated by Bahrain for the post of the general secretary of the Gulf Cooperation Council while serving as cultural affairs advisor. [4] However, his nomination was not endorsed by Qatar. [5] [6] As a result of Qatar's objection over his nomination, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani was nominated by Bahrain for the post. [7]
Mutawa was named as state minister for follow-up in 2010. [8] [9] His term ended in June 2022 when a new cabinet was announced by the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. [10] [11] During his long term in the Bahraini cabinets Mutawa was among the closest and powerful ministers of the former Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. [11]
The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) is the military force of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bahrain Defence Force is under direct command and leadership of a commander-in-chief who holds the rank of field marshal. Sheikh Mohammad bin Mubarak Al Khalifa is a Bahraini politician and a member of the Bahrain's royal family. He served as Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1969 to 2005, and has been Deputy Prime Minister since then.
The House of Khalifa is the ruling family of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Al Khalifas profess Sunni Islam and belong to the Anizah tribe, some members of this tribe joined the Utub alliance which migrated from Central Arabia to Kuwait, then ruled all of Qatar, more specifically Al Zubarah, which they built and ruled over before settling in Bahrain in the early 17th century. The Cabinet of Bahrain is the chief executive body of the Kingdom of Bahrain. According to Article 32 (b) of the 2002 Constitution, "executive authority is vested in the King together with the Council of Ministers and Ministers". The Council of Ministers (Cabinet) is appointed directly by the King . Bahrain has had only two Prime Ministers since the country's independence in 1971, Khalifah ibn Sulman al-Khalifah, the uncle of the reigning King Hamad ibn Isa al-Khalifah. Khalifah ibn Sulman al-Khalifah died on 11 November 2020, and was succeeded by the King's son, Crown Prince Salman. As of 2010, roughly half of the cabinet ministers have been selected from the Al Khalifa family, including the Minister of Defence, Minister of Interior, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs.
The Information Affairs Authority (IAA) is Bahrain's ministry of information that was formed in July 2010. The president of IAA is appointed directly by the King of Bahrain and has the rank of a minister in the Bahrain government. From July 2010 to 2012, Fawaz bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa was President of IAA. In 2012, he relinquished the position to take up an appointment as Minister of State for Communication, and Sameera Rajab was appointed in his place.
Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani is a Bahraini engineer and retired lieutenant general. He is the foreign minister, having formerly been the secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) from 1 April 2011 to February 2020. He was the fifth GCC secretary general and the first with military background since the GCC was established.

Al Khawalid, also spelled Al Khawaled, is a branch of the House of Khalifa, the ruling family of Bahrain. Al Khawalid is most often used to refer collectively to descendants of Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, which they are named after. The term also refers to brothers Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Royal Court Minister and Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa the Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force. For the purpose of this article, immediate descendants of Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa will be referred to as "the Khalids", the aforementioned two brothers will be referred to as "the Khawalid brothers" and the family branch collectively as "Al Khawalid".

Aymen Tawfeeq Abdulrahman Almoayed is a Bahraini diplomat, lawyer and strategist, and was the youngest member in the Cabinet of Bahrain until the cabinet reshuffle on June 14, 2022. Almoayed was appointed as the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain on November 21, 2022.
