Mohan Anand Amshekar (born 14 February 1955) is an Indian politician from Goa. He is a former Member of the Goa Legislative Assembly, representing the Sanvordem Assembly constituency from 1989 to 1994. He was a member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Mohan Anand Amshekar was born at Narsobawadi. He completed his primary studies at Government Primary School, Sancordem, Goa and finished his schooling from Kamakshi High School, Shiroda. He later went on to be a graduate from Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao. He is married to Sunanda Amshekar and currently resides at Khadpabandh, Ponda. [1]
Chakravarti Rajagopalachari BR, popularly known as Rajaji or C.R., also known as Mootharignar Rajaji, was an Indian statesman, writer, lawyer, and Indian independence activist. Rajagopalachari was the last Governor-General of India, as when India became a republic in 1950 the office was abolished. He was also the only Indian-born Governor-General, as all previous holders of the post were British nationals. He also served as leader of the Indian National Congress, Premier of the Madras Presidency, Governor of West Bengal, Minister for Home Affairs of the Indian Union and Chief Minister of Madras state. Rajagopalachari founded the Swatantra Party and was one of the first recipients of India's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. He vehemently opposed the use of nuclear weapons and was a proponent of world peace and disarmament. During his lifetime, he also acquired the nickname 'Mango of Salem'.
Shashikala Kakodkar, popularly known as Tai; lit. 'elder sister'), was a prominent leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). She served as the Chief Minister of Goa, Daman and Diu on two occasions, and also was the President of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. She is the first and woman to serve as the Chief Minister of Goa, Daman and Diu.
