Tamanrasset or Tamanghasset is the largest province (wilaya) in Algeria. It was named after its province seat,Tamanrasset. The province has two national parks,more than any other in Algeria. They are Tassili n'Ajjer National Park and Ahaggar National Park. The province is the largest in Algeria as it is 557,906 km2 large.
Tindouf,also written Tinduf,is the westernmost province of Algeria,having a population of 58,193 as of the 2008 census. Its population in reality could be as high as 160,000 because of the Sahrawi refugee camps. Despite the barren landscape,Tindouf is a resource-rich province,with important quantities of iron ore located in the Gara Djebilet area close to the border with Mauritania. Prior to Algerian independence,the area served as a strongpoint of several tribes of the nomadic Reguibat confederation.

Gossi is a town and rural commune in the Cercle of Gourma-Rharous of the Tombouctou Region of Mali,lying northeast of Hombori and southwest of Gao. The town is just to the west of the main RN15 highway that links Mopti with Gao. It is on a seasonal lake,Mare de Gossi,and is surrounded by nature reserves in which a large herd of elephants live. Around 90% of the population are nomadic pastoralists but there are permanent settlements around Lake Gossi,Lake Ebanguemalène and Lake Agoufou.

It was named after the Algerian independence activist Badji Mokhtar (1919–1954). The inhabitants are mainly Tuaregs.
