Mokowa Blay Adu-Gyamfi [1] is a former Ghanaian diplomat. [2] In the 1960s, she was part of the first batch of doctors to be trained in Ghana. [3] As at 2022, she is the Presidential advisor on HIV/AIDS at the Office of the President of Ghana. [4] [5] [6]
Adu-Gyamfi hails from Sekondi in the Western Region of Ghana. [7] She attended the Wesley Girls' where she completed her 'O' levels in 1959 and further had her 'A' level. [3] She is an alumna of University of Ghana. [8] In 1969, she had both her Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of surgery from the University of Ghana Medical School. She also has a certificate in Family Planning from the Family Planning Association of Great Britain. [9] She also has a postgraduate degree in family and community medicine, venereal diseases and family planning from the Glasgow University in the United Kingdom. [10]
Adu-Gyamfi is a medical doctor by profession. [3] In 2002, she was the National co-ordinator on AIDS program at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. [11] She is also a founding fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and also a fellow of the West African College of Physicians. [10]
In 2017, she was appointed by Nana Akufo-Addo as the Director-General at the Ghana AIDS Commission. [12] [13] [9]
She is also a board member of Joberg Foundation, an NGO of Joberg Ghana Limited, a construction company. [14]
Adu-Gyamfi was the High Commissioner of Ghana to Sierra Leone from 2005 to 2009. [8] [9] [16] She replaced Kabral Blay-Amihere as the High Commissioner of Ghana to Sierra Leone. [17]
Adu-Gyamfi is married to Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, a Ghanaian professor. [12] She is a descendant of R. S. Blay. [18]
Sekondi-Takoradi is a city in Ghana comprising the twin cities of Sekondi and Takoradi. It is the capital of Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan District and the Western Region of Ghana. The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is the official body in Ghana responsible for all public elections. Made up of seven members and there are seven (7) functional departments at the Head Office. The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) is a professional association of lawyers in Ghana, including what used to be called solicitors and barristers but they are now called legal practitioners, as well as magistrates.By convention, all lawyers admitted to practice in Ghana become automatic members of the association. The GBA has its roots in the Gold Coast Bar Association, the first president was Sierra Leonean lawyer Francis (Frans) Dove. The Bar Association drew up its first formal constitution and code of ethics in 1958 and from then on except for a few occasions when due to political reasons an annual conference has not been possible, the Bar Association holds a conference annually to take important decisions and to elect its officers who hold office for only one year but are eligible for re-election. The Bar Association considers that in this sense it is one of the most democratic institutions in Ghana. The Ghana Bar Association is made up of lawyers with good standing who are legally declared to practice law in Ghana.

Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei is the UN International Elections Commissioner, a Ghanaian lawyer and former chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana from 2015 until she was dismissed in June 2018 on grounds of financial malfeasance. Her dismissal has been challenged in the Supreme Court of Ghana by two separate writs. She became the first female to serve in the office of the Electoral Commission of Ghana since the independence of Ghana. Before her appointment she was the chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education. In May 2019, she was appointed by the United Nations to be on a team of international advisors, to assist in managing the 2019 presidential elections in Afghanistan.
Kabral Blay-Amihere is Ghanaian journalist and diplomat. He is currently the Chairman of the National Media Commission of Ghana, a constitutional body charged with promoting a free and responsible press in his country.

Nicholas Timothy Clerk was a Ghanaian academic, administrator and Presbyterian minister who served as the Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) from 1977 to 1982. He was also the vice-chairman of the Public Services Commission of Ghana. Clerk chaired the Public Services Commission of Uganda from 1989 to 1990.
