Montmartre is a French electronic music duo made up of Hugo Lab and Alex Enki. [1] [2]

Background

Guitarist Hugo comes from a classical upbringing originally playing the cello and attending music school, whilst Alex’s background is in producing electronic music. [3] The name Montmartre comes from the district in Paris where their studio is located. [4]

Career

In 2014, Montmartre received 3rd place in a worldwide competition for a remix of C2C’s ‘Happy’ and following this have released remixes for artists such as Adele, Bob Marley, Daft Punk & The Kooks. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

On 1 January 2014 Montmartre released their debut EP titled ‘Inside Of Me’ which featured two original songs as well as remixes from Yuksek, Skogsrå, Robotaki and Knucle G. [10]

On 15 April 2016 Montmartre released their debut LP entitled ‘Hope’. [11]

Critics have compared Montmartre to artists such as Daft Punk, Phoenix & Empire of the Sun. [12]

Group members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo met in 1987 while studying at the Lycée Carnot secondary school. Bingo Players was originally a duo, which included Paul Bäumer, who died from cancer in 2013. Déjà Vu is the fourteenth studio album by Italian DJ Giorgio Moroder: his first album, after a 23-years hiatus, since Forever Dancing (1992). It was released on 12 June 2015, and features collaborations with: Kylie Minogue, Sia, Britney Spears, Kelis, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko, Foxes and Matthew Koma, among others. "Pop Culture" is a mash-up song created by Hugo Pierre Leclercq, better known by his stage name, Madeon. The song was recorded on-the-fly by Leclercq, when he was seventeen years old, using samples from 39 popular songs, mixed using software FL Studio controlled with a Novation Launchpad. Leclercq recorded a video of him creating the mix which he uploaded to YouTube on 11 July 2011. The video went viral within a few days of release, and it has subsequently been seen more than 60 million times. The video drew attention to Leclercq and would lead to him being signed by Columbia Records and launching his music career.
