Morfou Drosidou (born 26 April 1974) is a Greek taekwondo practitioner.
She won a bronze medal in welterweight at the 1991 World Taekwondo Championships, and silver medals at the 1993 World Taekwondo Championships and 1997 World Taekwondo Championships. Her achievements at the European Taekwondo Championships include a gold medal in 1994, a silver medal in 1992, and a bronze medal in 2000. [1]
Taekwondo was introduced to the Philippines through the efforts of Kim Bok Man and Young Man Park. Grand Master Kim Bok Man arrived in 1970 to continue Park's legacy of propagating Taekwondo upon the invitation of President Marcos. Kim continued to pioneer Taekwondo worldwide and left the Philippines in 1971. In 1975, Grand Master Hong Sung-chon came to the Philippines to promote Taekwondo, eventually establishing the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA). The current central headquarters of the PTA is at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. The PTA is a member of the Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee and Asian Taekwondo Union.
Natália Falavigna da Silva is a taekwondo athlete from Brazil. She finished in the fourth place in the women's 67-kilogram category in taekwondo at the 2004 Summer Olympics on August 26, and won the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was the first Brazilian Olympic medal ever in taekwondo.
Donald David "Donnie" von Geisler III is a retired Filipino taekwondo athlete of German-American descent, who represented the Philippines in the Summer Olympic Games in the years 2000 and 2004. He is a 1998 Asian Games and World Cup Taekwondo Silver medalist, and won a gold medal for the men's lightweight division at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games held in Pasay, Philippines before his retirement.
Gwladys Patience Épangue is a French taekwondo athlete. Representing France at the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships in Madrid, she won the silver medal in the welterweight division, losing to Hwang Kyung-Seon from South Korea in the final. Jade Louise Jones is a Welsh taekwondo athlete. She is the 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medallist in the women's 57 kg category, and the 2019 World champion, 2016, 2018 and 2021 European champion and 2015 European Games champion at the same weight. In 2012, she won Britain's first taekwondo Olympic gold medal in this category. Jones was at the time the reigning Youth Olympic champion in the girls' 55 kg category, winning gold for Great Britain in 2010.
Hadi Saei is an Iranian councilor and former taekwondo athlete who became the most successful Iranian athlete in Olympic history and the most titled champion in this sport by winning 9 world class titles .
