Morrison Facilities Services was a United Kingdom based company that specialised in providing facilities services to private businesses and central and local government bodies.
The core area of the business was repair and maintenance of social housing. It was a subsidiary of Anglian Water Group until acquired and (later) merged by Mears Group in 2012. [1] [2]
Morrison Construction was founded by the Morrison family in 1948 in Tain, Scotland. [3] In the 1980s, 80% of the company was sold to Charter Consolidated, with the Morrison family retaining 20% of the ownership. [4] In 1989, the Morrison family repurchased the 80% of the business sold to Charter Consolidated earlier that decade, and also acquired the businesses of Biggs Wall and Shand Construction.
Morrison Construction plc was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994. In September 2000, the company was purchased by AWG Plc and subsequently delisted. [5]
The construction division of the business was sold in 2006 to Galliford Try. [6] The remainder of the business was split into two divisions, Morrison Facilities Services and Morrison Utility Services. Two years later, AWG sold the Utility Services division to two private equity firms, Cognetas and Englefield Capital for £235 million. [7]
The company launched a business partnership in September 2006 with Manchester City Council, which lasted for ten years. [8] The contract was extended for £20 million July 2010 for an additional two years and eight months. [9]
AWG sold Morrison Facilities Services in 2012 to Mears Group for £24 million.

Phoenix Natural Gas is the largest gas distribution business in Northern Ireland, being the owner and operator of the licence for the distribution network in the Greater Belfast area. The distribution business is responsible for the development of the pipeline network and also for providing a 24/7 operational and transportation service platform to suppliers under the rules of the company's network code. The ongoing investment within the Phoenix Natural Gas licence area does not attract any grant or support from local or UK government. The investment is a standalone private venture.
Signature Aviation is a multinational aviation services company headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The company was founded as W. Wilson Cobbett Ltd in 1879 and subsequently specialised in the manufacture of industrial supplies, particularly in the automotive and aviation sectors. During the Second World War, the company produced materials for British military aircraft, such as the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, and Hawker Typhoon.
