Moses Magogo Hassim (born November 8, 1976) is a Ugandan sports administrator and politician. He is the current president of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), [1] [2] and Executive member of Confederation of African Football (CAF). [3] In the 2021 general election he was elected to Parliament, representing Budiope East in Buyende District, [4] for the National Resistance Movement. [5]

Life

Moses Magogo was born in Buyende District, Eastern Uganda and currently lives in Kampala, Uganda.

Moses Hassim Magogo took the mantle as Federation of Uganda Football Associations president on 31 August 2013 after succeeding Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa. [6] [1] He was re-elected in 2017 for another four-year term. [7]

Moses Magogo went to Kagulu Primary School in Kamuli District, Jinja College in Jinja and Namilyango College in Mukono District before joining Makerere University for a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical). [7]

Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa is a Ugandan teacher, business man and entrepreneur who serves as the director and president of a football club, Vipers SC. He is the former president of the Uganda football governing board FUFA where he served for nine straight years, the second longest serving FUFA president after Kabaka Daudi Chwa in (1924-1932). He is also the executive director and former Head teacher of the school St. Mary's Secondary School Kitende.

The Hoima Sports Stadium, also FUFA Rujumba Stadium Hoima, is a planned multi-purpose stadium in Uganda. It is intended to be used for the first time, during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament. The stadium is one of the three stadia that Uganda plans to use during the tournament, that will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
