Mostyn Mangau BEM is a senior police officer in the Solomon Islands. [1] [2]

In 2014 Mangau was honoured with a British Empire Medal. [3] Four other officers received similar honours.

In February 2018, Mangau announced an initiative to destroy rogue crocodiles observed near Bonegi, Guadalcanal, and assured the public that managing the crocodile population was a priority for the police. [4]

He was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police from Assistant Commissioner of Police, on October 24, 2019. [1] He was also appointed to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Executive. His responsibilities include National Security. [2]

Mangau attended the commissioning of the RSIPV Gizo in his capacity of acting police commissioner. [5] He called the Gizo the "pride of the fleet".

The monarchy of Solomon Islands is a system of government in which a constitutional monarch is the head of state of Solomon Islands. The present monarch is Queen Elizabeth II, who is also the head of state of fourteen other Commonwealth realms. Although the person of the sovereign is equally shared with 14 other independent countries within the Commonwealth of Nations, each country's monarchy is separate and legally distinct. Royal Cayman Islands Police Service
