Mosud Mannan (born 21 April 1961) was a diplomat of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, who entered into retirement in October 2022. Between 22 October 2020 and 20 October 2022, he served as the ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Turkey. [1] Previously, he served as ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Uzbekistan, concurrently accredited to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic from 16 September 2013 till 15 October 2020. Career

From 2000-2001, Mosud Mannan served as counsellor at the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations and was an alternative tepresentative of Bangladesh to the Security Council, as the country was elected as a non-permanent member of the Security Council at the time. [6]

Mannan was Bangladesh's ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Mali, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Senegal and the Republic of Sierra Leone. [7] [8] [9]

From 31 March 2010 till 17 February 2013, Mannan was ambassador to Germany, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Slovenia. [10] [11] [12] [9] During his tenure, he was a representative of Bangladesh before the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in the dispute concerning delimitation of the maritime boundary between Bangladesh and Myanmar in the Bay of Bengal (Bangladesh/Myanmar). [13]

Earlier in his diplomatic career, he served in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in Beijing (minister and deputy chief of mission), New York City (counsellor-minister), Muscat (counsellor) and London (second secretary-counsellor). [14] At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, he held different positions, including Director General (International Organisations) and Deputy Chief of Protocol. [15] [16]

Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali is the former finance minister of Bangladesh who also served as parliamentarian and cabinet minister including the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh from 2013 to 2019. He previously served as Minister of Disaster Management and Relief from 2012 to 2013.

Kamrul Ahsan, a career foreign service officer, served as Bangladesh Ambassador to the Russian Federation from January 2020 to September 2024. During his tenure in Moscow, he was also concurrently accredited as his country's Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan. Before joining in his position in Moscow, he served as Secretary for Bilateral and Consular Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Azerbaijan's ambassador to India is also accredited to Bangladesh, while Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey is accredited as Bangladesh's ambassador to Azerbaijan. Bangladesh supported Azerbaijan in the UN with regard to the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute. Azerbaijan supported Bangladesh on its nomination to International Maritime Organization in 2011.

Nahida Sobhan is a Bangladeshi diplomat. She is the first female diplomat representing Bangladesh in the Middle East as she became ambassador to Jordan on 21 February 2020. Earlier, she served as the director general of the UN Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tarik Ahsan was a professional Bangladeshi diplomat. His last diplomatic assignment was that of Ambassador of Bangladesh to Portugal since early October 2020. Prior to that, Tarik Ahsan had been Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka since October 2014.
