Motile (record label)

Motile is a UK based independent record label, started in 2004, dedicated to the release of albums that combine improvisation, experimentation and/or other approaches to explore new musical territories. It is part of the Chameleon Lectra umbrella organization for electronic arts.

Motile has released two music CDs: Inlets (RMusic 001) by Paul Ramsay in 2004 and Magic Stones (RMusic 002) by composer Robert Jarvis who won at the British Composer Awards for the title track in the New Media category (in 2006). [1]

The Wedding Present

The Wedding Present are a British indie rock group originally formed in 1985 in Leeds, England, from the ashes of the Lost Pandas. The band's music has evolved from fast-paced indie rock in the vein of their most obvious influences The Fall, Buzzcocks and Gang of Four to more varied forms. Throughout their career, they have been led by vocalist and guitarist David Gedge, the band's only constant member.

The Chameleons

The Chameleons were an English post-punk band formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester in 1981. The band consisted of singer and bassist Mark Burgess, guitarists Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding, and drummer John Lever. They were called the Chameleons UK in North America because an American band had claim to "the Chameleons" name.

Zoo Records was a British independent record label formed by Bill Drummond and David Balfe in 1978. Zoo was launched to release the work of the perennially struggling Liverpool band Big in Japan. The London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), founded in 2008 by Hugh Brunt and Robert Ames, is an ensemble of young musicians whose stated aim is "to explore and promote new music to an increasingly wide audience". LCO staged its inaugural season at LSO St Luke's and has since performed at venues and festivals including the Roundhouse, Latitude Festival, The Old Vic Tunnels, Snape Maltings, Southbank Centre, Barbican, Spitalfields Music and Royal Opera House. LCO has since worked on films including Theeb, Moonlight, Macbeth (2015), Slow West and The Master.
