Motor Racing Outreach is a non-denominational Christian Protestant organization that serves the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and various other levels and forms of motorsports across the United States.
Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 to serve the Cup Series community. It was founded by Max Helton in response to a need presented by three drivers within the series who were unable to attend regular church services due to the demands of their schedule. [1]
Stock car racing is a form of automobile racing run on oval tracks and road courses measuring approximately 0.25 to 2.66 miles. It originally used production-model cars, hence the name "stock car", but is now run using cars specifically built for racing. It originated in the southern United States; its largest governing body is NASCAR. Its NASCAR Cup Series is the premier top-level series of professional stock car racing. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and the United Kingdom also have forms of stock car racing. Top-level races typically range between 200 and 600 miles in length.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) is a stock car racing series organized by NASCAR. It is promoted as NASCAR's second-tier circuit to the organization's top level Cup Series. NXS events are frequently held as a support race on the day prior to a Cup Series event scheduled for that weekend.
James Peter Spencer is an American former racing driver, team owner, talk show host and television commentator. He is best known for competing in NASCAR. He hosted the NASCAR-inspired talk show, What’s the Deal?, on Speed, and was co-host, with John Roberts and Kenny Wallace, of Speed's pre-race and post-race NASCAR shows NASCAR RaceDay and NASCAR Victory Lane. Before retiring, Spencer had a segment on Speed's NASCAR Race Hub offering commentary and answering viewer questions. During his days racing modifieds, he was nicknamed "Mr. Excitement" for his aggressive racing style. Spencer is one of the few drivers to have won a race in all three of NASCAR's top series: the NASCAR Cup Series, the Xfinity Series, and the Truck Series.
Kyle Thomas Busch is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing, part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro also for RCR, and part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports. Busch is the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and the 2015 and 2019 Cup Series champion. Busch is currently 9th on the all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins list and his dominance of NASCAR's three major series has him ranked as one of the greatest racing drivers of all time. Busch is also a one-time WWE 24/7 Champion. He is the younger brother of 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series champion Kurt Busch.
Jeffrey Tyler Burton, nicknamed "the Mayor", is an American former professional stock car racing driver and current racing commentator. He is a member of the Burton racing family. He scored 21 career victories in the NASCAR Cup Series, including two Coca-Cola 600s in 1999 and 2001 and the 1999 Southern 500. He currently serves as a color commentator for NBC Sports, having joined them upon their return to their coverage of NASCAR. His son Harrison competes in the NASCAR Cup Series and nephew Jeb Burton currently competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while his brother Ward Burton has also raced in the Cup Series.
Michael Duane Bliss is an American professional stock car racing driver. A journeyman NASCAR competitor and the 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion, he has run in all three national series.
John Edward "Ward" Burton III is an American former professional stock car racing driver. He has five career wins in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, including the 2002 Daytona 500 and the 2001 Southern 500. A member of the Burton racing family, he is the older brother of fellow NASCAR driver and NASCAR on NBC broadcaster Jeff Burton, the father of current NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Jeb Burton, and the uncle of current NASCAR Cup Series driver Harrison Burton. He currently operates the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, a conservation and sportsmans' organization.
Floyd Anthony Raines is a retired American professional stock car racing driver. He is a former National Touring Series champion in the American Speed Association and 1999 Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He is currently the spotter for the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Ryan Preece.
Motor Racing Network (MRN) is a U.S. radio network that syndicates broadcasts of auto racing events, particularly NASCAR. MRN was founded in 1970 by NASCAR founder Bill France, Sr. and broadcaster Ken Squier, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of NASCAR. Its first broadcast was the 1970 Daytona 500.
Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada since the track opened 1997. Currently, the track holds two Xfinity Series races. The 300-mile (480 km) spring race is currently The LiUNA! and the 301.5-mile (485 km) playoff race held in the fall is currently the Ambetter Health 302.
The Andy's Frozen Custard 300 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race that takes place at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
Red Bull Racing Team, also known as Team Red Bull, was a NASCAR team owned by Red Bull founders Dietrich Mateschitz and Chaleo Yoovidhya. The team was based in Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States and was managed by Jay Frye. The team suspended operations on December 8, 2011 and their cars were sold to BK Racing.
Calvin "Cal" Wells III is a businessman and CEO of Legacy Motor Club. The former owner of PPI Motorsports, he later served as the executive vice president of operations at Michael Waltrip Racing, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization's three NASCAR Cup Series teams and one Nationwide Series team, until July 2011.
Swan Racing was a stock car racing team that competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series until the 2014 season. The team was founded as Inception Motorsports which fielded a single No. 30 team in the Cup Series in 2011 and 2012 before being purchased by Swan Energy CEO Brandon Davis late in 2012. The team was headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina in the United States. David Stremme was the team's original driver, before being replaced by rookies Cole Whitt and Parker Kligerman at the end of 2013. The team expanded to two teams in 2014 for Whitt and Kilgerman, attempting and qualifying for every event that season until the woes of sponsorship kicked in following the eighth race of the season. The team shut down in April 2014; its owners points, employees, and most of its assets moved to Xxxtreme Motorsport and BK Racing, though Parker Kligerman remained under contract through year's end.
The Pennzoil 250 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series auto race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2012. It takes place the Saturday of Kroger Super Weekend. This race replaced the Kroger 200, which had been held at the nearby Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park, for the previous 30 years. Brad Keselowski won the inaugural event.
Brad Noffsinger is an American professional stock car racing driver and crew chief. Now retired as a driver, he formerly competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and Busch Series; following his stock car racing career, he served as a crew chief in the Winston Cup Series and has competed in USAC open-wheel competition.
Keith Matthew Rodden is an American stock car racing crew chief who works for Richard Childress Racing in an administrative role. He previously served as a crew chief for RCR on Austin Dillon's No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series. He also previously crew chiefed in the Cup Series for Chip Ganassi Racing on Jamie McMurray's No. 1 car in 2014 and then for Hendrick Motorsports on Kasey Kahne's No. 5 car from 2015 to 2017 and also worked for Chevrolet in their motorsports division.
Maurice J. Gallagher Jr., also known as Maury Gallagher, is a commercial airline entrepreneur and current Chairman and CEO of Allegiant Travel Company. Prior to Allegiant, he co-founded and invested in WestAir and ValuJet. He is also the founder of several non-aviation businesses in the telecommunications and adaptive learning fields. He is also the co-owner of the NASCAR Cup Series racing team Legacy Motor Club.
eNASCAR was launched in 2018, by the parent company, NASCAR, to act as the Esports arm of the auto-racing body. The organization primarily uses the iRacing game via a PC platform for organizing its competitions, but has previously used other systems, such as those created by Xbox and PlayStation, and other games. As of 2022, eNASCAR officially sanctions three leagues.
Legacy Motor Club, formerly known as Petty GMS Motorsports, is an American professional stock car racing team owned by Maury Gallagher and Jimmie Johnson. The team competes in the NASCAR Cup Series where they currently field three Toyota Camry teams: the No. 42 full-time for John Hunter Nemechek, the No. 43 full-time for Erik Jones, and the No. 84 part-time for team co-owner Johnson. The team has a technical alliance with Toyota Racing Development. In 2024, Legacy Motor Club expanded into the electric off-road racing series Extreme E with Johnson as the primary driver.
