Moturu Hanumantha Rao (1917-2001) was a Communist party leader in the state of Andhra Pradesh, South India.

He was the founder-Editor of the Communist newspaper Prajasakti published from Vijayawada. [1] [2] Prajasakti was brought out as a daily under the leadership of P. Sundarayya and editorship of Moturu Hanumantha Rao on 1 August 1981, when the first issue was released by E. M. S. Namboodiripad. [3]

K. Keshava Rao

Kancherla Keshava Rao. popularly known as KK, is an Indian politician from Telangana Rashtra Samithi party. He is a Member of the Parliament of India in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Rao was first elected to Rajya Sabha in 2006 and served until 2012, and was re-elected in 2014 representing Andhra Pradesh. Despite being from Telangana he was assigned to Andhra Pradesh because of the lot method used to assign Rajya Sabha members for the newly created Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh. In 2020, he was re-elected to Rajya Sabha again for a six-year term representing Telangana.

V. Hanumantha Rao is a political leader from the Indian National Congress party. He is the AICC(All India Congress Committee) Secretary of Congress Party in Telangana. He was the Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha. After Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh he is allotted to Telangana state by draw of lots.

Politics of Telangana Political system of Telangana

The Indian state of Telangana was founded in 2014. Its territory had formerly been part of Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana movement was instrumental in the creation of the new state, and Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a party which led the Telangana movement after 2001, forms the government in the Telangana Legislative Assembly under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Guntur Bapanaiah (1919-1978) was a freedom fighter, Dalit leader, and an active member of undivided communist party known as Communist Party of India from the 1930s. Bapanaiah was one of founding member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) party after the split in Communist Party of India in 1964. He was the in-charge of agricultural labourers associations for a long period. He was one of the organizers of the peasant struggles in Challapalli Estate during 1938 and 1950. He was elected as M.L.A. to the Madras Legislative Assembly from Divi constituency in 1951. Later he was elected as M.L.A. from Nidumolu assembly constituency for Andhra Pradesh Assembly in 1962 and 1978.

1964 split in the Communist Party of India

In 1964 a major split occurred in the Communist Party of India. The split was the culmination of decades of tensions and factional infighting. When India became independent in 1947, differences arose of how to adapt to the new situation. As relations between the Nehru government and the Soviet Union improved, a faction that sought cooperation with the dominant Indian National Congress emerged within CPI. This tendency was led by S.A. Dange, whose role in the party hierarchy became increasingly controversial. When the Sino-Indian War broke out in 1962 Dange's opponents within CPI were jailed, but when they were released they sought to challenge his leadership. In 1964 the party was finally divided into two, with the left faction forming the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The split had a lot of regional variations. It also impacted other organizations, such as trade union and peasant movements. The split has been studied extensively by scholars, who have sought to analyze the various domestic and international factors involved.
