Robert Trimble was a lawyer and jurist who served as Justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals, as United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of Kentucky and as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1826 to his death in 1828. During his brief Supreme Court tenure he authored several majority opinions, including the decision in Ogden v. Saunders, which was the only majority opinion that Chief Justice John Marshall ever dissented from during his 34 years on the Court.

Wises Landing is a hamlet located in Trimble County, Kentucky, United States. It is at the mouth of Barebone Creek, two miles from Corn Creek creek, at the headwaters of which is Corn Creek Church. In the 19th century it was a thriving port town for traffic inland into Trimble via the creeks. The community was served by the Corn Creek post office and was damaged in the 1937 Ohio River flood. In 1974, the Louisville Gas & Electric Company selected the area for the construction of a new power plant, which was completed in 1990. The Yeager General Store, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, is located in Wise's Landing.

Vance Henry Trimble was an American journalist. He won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in recognition of his exposé of nepotism and payroll abuse in the U.S. Congress. Trimble worked in the newspaper business for over fifty years. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 1974. He published numerous books after his retirement.
