Mount Pleasant Hospital (Welsh : Ysbyty Mount Pleasant) was a health facility in Mount Pleasant, Swansea, Wales.
The facility had its origins in the Swansea Union Workhouse which was opened in 1862. [1] A large female infirmary designed by Herbert Wills was added in 1903. [1] It became Mount Pleasant Hospital in 1929 and joined the National Health Service in 1948. [2] After services had transferred to Singleton Hospital, Mount Pleasant Hospital closed in 1995, the site was subsequently sold to Swansea Housing Association and the buildings were converted into accommodation for housing association tenants in 1999. [3]
Mount Pleasant is a city in and the county seat of Henry County, Iowa. The population was 8,668 in the 2010 census, a decline from 8,751 in the 2000 census. It was founded in 1835 by pioneer Presley Saunders.

The Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute was a psychiatric institution located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, USA. Originally known as the Iowa Lunatic Asylum, it opened in 1861. It is located on the same campus as The Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility. There was also a labyrinth of tunnels which connect every building. Like most asylums of its time, it had a gruesome and dark history. Remnants of this are the graveyard, hydrotherapy tubs and lobotomy equipment. It was the first asylum in Iowa and was built under the Kirkbride Plan.
