Bethel is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,504 at the 2020 census. It includes the villages of Bethel and West Bethel. The town is home to Gould Academy, a private preparatory school, and is near the Sunday River ski resort.

Carroll is an important access point for recreational areas in the White Mountains, including many 4,000-footers, the Zealand River area, the Presidential Range, and the Presidential Dry River Wilderness. The town is home to the Mount Washington Hotel at Bretton Woods and to the Highland Center at Crawford Notch, the Appalachian Mountain Club's four-season lodge.

The White Mountains Region is a tourism region designated by the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism. It is located in northern New Hampshire in the United States and is named for the White Mountains, which cover most of the region. The southern boundary of the region begins at Piermont on the west, and runs east to Campton, then on to Conway and the Maine border. The northern boundary begins at Littleton and runs east to Gorham and the Maine border. The region to the north is known as the Great North Woods Region, which should not be confused with the larger and more general Great North Woods.
The Omni Mount Washington Resort is a historic luxury resort hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, United States, near Mount Washington. It was designed by Charles Alling Gifford. In 1944, it hosted the Bretton Woods Conference, which established the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. It is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Francis Henry Fassett was an American architect in Maine who built as many as 400 homes and buildings throughout the state. Working in the Victorian High Gothic and Queen Anne styles, he especially influenced the look of Portland.
Nash & Sawyer Location, New Hampshire, is a historic designation of part of Coos County, which was shown on the 1896 topographic map of the area north of Crawford Notch. It contained the areas now known as Bretton Woods and Fabyans, each annexed by the town of Carroll before 1935.

Atop this biblically named plateau is Mount Nebo State Park. Developed as a resort area in the late 19th century, it became a state park in 1928, its early development spearheaded by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Park activities include hiking, camping, and other outdoor pursuits.
Mount Rosebrook is a mountain in New Hampshire's White Mountains. It is part of the Bretton Woods Ski Resort, rising to the southwest across U.S. Route 302 from the Mount Washington Hotel. The elevation of the summit is 3,004 feet (916 m). It is on the crest of the Rosebrook Mountains, with 2,746-foot (837 m) Mount Oscar to the northwest and 3,043-foot (928 m) Mount Stickney to the southeast.
Joseph Stickney (1840–1903) was a wealthy coal broker, hotelier, and socialite, mostly active in Pennsylvania. He was a native of Concord, New Hampshire, and made a fortune before the age of thirty by investing in the coal business.
Glen House is the name of a series of grand resorts and hotels, dating back to 1852, in Pinkham Notch very near Mount Washington in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, USA.
Fabyan House was a grand hotel in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, constructed by Sylvester Marsh who also built the Mount Washington Cog Railway. The hotel burned during construction in 1868 and was rebuilt in 1873. It was destroyed by fire in 1951.
