The American Legion Mountaineer Boys State (ALMBS), a.k.a. Mountaineer Boys State (MBS), is West Virginia chapter of The American Legion's Boys State program, which was founded in 1936. [4] ALMBS is based in Jackson's Mill. [5] The program has paused operations four times since its founding, taking a hiatus in 1943 and 1945 due to World War II rationing [6] and from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [6]
