The National University of Ireland, Maynooth, commonly known as Maynooth University (MU), is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. It was Ireland's youngest university until Technological University Dublin was established in 2019, having been founded by the Universities Act, 1997, from the secular faculties of the now separate St Patrick's College, Maynooth, which was founded in 1795. Maynooth is also the only university town in Ireland, all other universities being based within cities.
The Institute of Technology, Carlow was an institute of technology, located in Carlow, Ireland. The institute had campuses in Carlow, Wexford, and Wicklow, as well as a part-time provision elsewhere in Ireland. Along with the Waterford Institute of Technology, the institute was dissolved on 1 May 2022 and was succeeded by the South East Technological University.

In April 2022, it was formally dissolved, and its functions were transferred to Atlantic Technological University (ATU). Now a constituent institute of ATU, it has facilities in the west of Ireland. GMIT's campuses are located in Galway City, Castlebar, Letterfrack and Mountbellew. GMIT won The Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year award in 2004, 2007, 2015 and 2022. GMIT also has a number of specialist research centres and two Innovation Hubs.

Gurteen College is an agricultural college in County Tipperary, Ireland. Founded as Gurteen Agricultural College by the Methodist Church in Ireland in 1947 it was officially opened by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Patrick Smith, on October 11, 1947. The college provides training courses in agriculture and equine studies for farms and rural enterprises. It is a charity registered in Ireland. The farm covers 380 hectares of land.
Shannon College of Hotel Management was founded in 1951 as Ireland's first designated College of Hotel Management. Since 2015 it is fully incorporated into the University of Galway. The college was founded by Dr. Brendan O'Regan and is based in Shannon Airport, County Clare. It was set up with input from Aer Rianta. Shannon College offers programmes at Foundation, Certificate, Degree and Masters Level. Shannon College also offers a range of executive education and short programmes. Shannon College has a long-standing relationship with industry, with hotel partners located all over the world. Graduates of Shannon College are also recognised by the Institute of Hospitality (IoH), the International Hotel and Restaurant Association and the Irish Hospitality Institute.
Pallaskenry Agricultural College is a centre of training for farmers, mechanics and salespeople for the agricultural and farm machinery industries. It is located in Pallaskenry, County Limerick, Ireland, and is owned and managed by the Salesian Fathers. The college is co-located with Salesian Secondary College. The Salesians also used to run Warrenstown College, County Meath.

It was formally established on 1 April 2022 as a merger of three existing institutes of technology (ITs) - Galway-Mayo IT, IT Sligo, and Letterkenny IT - into a single university, the fourth such TU in Ireland.
