Mst. Tahmina Begum (born 25 August 1952) [1] is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Madaripur-3 constituency. She currently serving as president of Kalkini Upazila Awami League. [2]
Begum was elected to parliament from reserved seat as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 2019. [3] [4]
Begum was elected to Parliament in 7 January 2024 from Madaripur-3 as an Independent candidate. [5] She defeated Awami League candidate Abdus Sobhan Golap. [5] She received 96,633 votes while her nearest rival Golap received 61,971 votes. [6]

The unicameral Jatiyo Sangshad,meaning national parliament,has 350 members of which 300 members are directly elected through a national election for a five-year term in single-seat constituencies while 50 memberships are reserved for the women who are selected by the ruling party or coalition.
