Muck Rack, LLC is a software program that connects public relation offices and journalist listing on social media. It was founded in 2009 by Gregory Galant and Lee Semel. [6] Since 2011, Muck Rack has been a free database for journalists and public relation officers. [7] The database which was launched freely for journalists and subscription based for public relation access is also a news aggregator that indexes news written by a registered journalist from the internet. According to "Journalist Magazine", Muck Rack indexes every tweet sent by registered journalists, and if tweets contain a link to an article they have written, that article too is indexed. It also sends a daily email to registered members on what other journalists are talking about on social media. [7]
