Muhammad Maksudul Haque [a] is a two star officer of the Bangladesh Army and Bangladeshi ambassador to Iraq. [1] Prior to that, he was Commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factory. He is 9th Colonel Commandant of Army Ordnance Corps. [2]
Haque enlisted to Bangladesh Military Academy on 1989 and was commissioned in the Ordnance Corps with 24th BMA long course on 21 June 1991. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, National Defence College and the Armed Forces War College. Haque furthermore obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chittagong, a Master's of Defence Studies degree from National University, Bangladesh and also a Master of Business administration degree from University of Dhaka. Haque commanded two divisional ordnance depots at Cumilla and Bogra respectively. He also served as adjutant and quartermaster general at the Ordnance Corps Centre and School in Rajendrapur Cantonment. He was promoted to colonel as appointed as commandant of Central Machine and Tools Depot at Rajendrapur cantonment. He was then transferred to logistics area at Dhaka Cantonment where he served as colonel staff. Haque was ameliorated to brigadier general on 2016 and was designated as commandant of central ordnance depot, Dhaka. Haque was appointed to the UN SaferGuard Technical Review Board of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs the same year. In 2019, Haque tenured as principal of Military Collegiate School Khulna. He returned to army headquarters on 2021 for serving as director of ordnance directorate.
Haque was promoted to major general in January 2023 and was appointed as commandant of Bangladesh Ordnance Factories. He was designated as colonel commandant of the Ordnance Corps in 19 December 2023. [1] Haque was dispatched to Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 2024 and has taken over responsibilities as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Iraq on 13 July 2025. [1]
Haque is married to Marzina Akhter, and they are proud parents of a daughter and a son. [1]
