Majhira Cantonment, also known historically as Bogra Cantonment, is a cantonment about 10 kilometers south of Bogura city in northern Bangladesh. [1] [2] [3]

It is the headquarters of the 11th Infantry Division. The Armoured Corps Center & School (ACC&S), and the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy (NCOA) of the Bangladesh Army are also located there. [4] [5]

Beyond the military significance, Bogra Cantonment is home to an educational institution, the Bogura Cantonment Public School and College (BCPSC), established in 1979. The Cantonment Board, a local governing body, oversees the administration and infrastructure development within the area.

The Bangladesh Army is the land warfare branch and the largest component of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. The primary mission of the Army is to provide necessary forces and capabilities, to deliver the Bangladeshi government's, adaptative security measures, modular strategies, and optimized or informed intelligence, used in prevision of defending the nation's territorial integrity against external attack. Control of personnel and operations is administered by the Army Headquarters, Dhaka. The Bangladesh Army is also constitutionally obligated to assist the government and it's civilian agencies, either during times of domestic national emergency, or as preventive measures in rare cases. This additional role is commonly referred to as "aid to civil administration" or, using the Latin form, "Protectio, Transparentia, Reintegratio", in others words, "Protect and Serve".

BIAM Model School and College, Bogura is an educational institution located in Bogura district, Bangladesh. This school and college operates under Bangladesh Institute of Administration and Management (BIAM) Foundation. It originally founded as Bogra Model School and College, and Tarique Rahman, son of the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia, laid the foundation stone of the organization. This educational institution is located in Nishindara area of Bogra district. The institute started its educational activities on April 24, 2005 and took part in all public examinations in 2008. The institute has already achieved a lot in the public examinations within the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi. It became the best school in Rajahahi Division in 2023. At present it is one of the best educational institutions in Bogura.

A K M Nazmul Hasan is a major general in the Bangladesh Army and Commandant of East Bengal Regimental Centre. Prior to that, he served as the Director General of the Special Security Force. Before that, he was the 24th Director General of the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB). He also served as the Director General of the Bangladesh Ansar and the Village Defence Party. He was General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 11th Infantry Division and Area Commander, Bogura Area.
