Mukesh Duggal was an Indian film producer who has produced many notable films of 90's. Duggal's lone directorial Gopi Kishan and Saathi were commercially successful films. [1] [2]

Career

Mukesh Duggal started his career as a producer with the 1991 Sanjay Dutt starrer Fateh, followed by the successful Saathi, directed by Mahesh Bhatt starring Aditya Pancholi and Pakistan cricketer Mohsin Khan in lead roles. Duggal made his debut as a director with Gopi Kishan , the 1994 Sunil Shetty (double role) starrer. Dil Ka Kya Kasoor with late Divya Bharti, Platform starring Ajay Devgn and Khilona starring Monica Bedi were his other notable films. [2]

Death

On 7 March 1998, Duggal was killed at Seven Bungalows, Andheri, by unidentified people for using actress Monica Bedi forcibly to act as a mediator between the financiers and the underworld, [3] as per a Crime Branch official. [2] [4]

Kasoor is a 2001 Indian Hindi psychological suspense thriller film produced under Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films and directed by Vikram Bhatt. It features Aftab Shivdasani in his second Bollywood appearance and Lisa Ray in her Bollywood debut. Ray's voice was dubbed by Divya Dutta. The film also stars Apoorva Agnihotri, Irrfan Khan and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles. It was released on 2 February 2001. The film is an unofficial remake of the 1985 Hollywood film Jagged Edge which stars Jeff Bridges and Glenn Close. The movie was a critical and commercial success.

Gopi Kishan is 1994 Indian Hindi action comedy movie directed by Mukesh Duggal starring Sunil Shetty in a dual role, supported by Shilpa Shirodkar and Karishma Kapoor. Other cast includes Suresh Oberoi, Aruna Irani, Mohan Joshi, Shammi, Satyendra Kapoor and Mushtaq Khan. The film is a remake of K. Bhagyaraj's hit Tamil film Avasara Police 100. Saathi: The Companion is a 2005 film. The film was a box office failure.
